I am 28, 5'6" average build, average hands (you know, my ring finger is a standard 7). I ordered the medium and they were slightly big. Almost right, but not snug enough to feel like they would help. So I sent them back and they quickly and happily sent me a pair of smalls. These fit nice and snug, however I couldn't bend my fingers without the fabric pushing my knuckles straight. I was nervous to alter them, but I ended up cutting almost an inch off of each finger and now they fit great. I think for a man, or a person with longer fingers they would be fine, but for someone like me, don't be afraid to cut them until they feel right. In the photo, they are shown above the knuckle, which is how they came, but I felt the fabric was a little too ridgid (but that's what makes it supportive) to have cover my already sore knuckles. That could be me though. They don't fray either, so don't worry to take the sciccors to them.
I have yet to wash them, so I don't know how that will be, but they are comfortable and so far don't make my hands all sweaty. I don't notice the "warmth" that is supposed to make you feel better, but I definitly feel more supported while wearing them.

UPDATE: A year late (with occational use) and many washing- where I cut them to make them the right size, the stitching has come all undone. I will have to resew each finger, which is not too bad, but the material itself has not frayed.

The Thermoskin line of gloves surpasses my wildest expectations for a glove that relieves arthritis pain. I gave the gloves as a gift to a friend, and since she has received them, they have not come off her hands except to eat and shower. Comfortable and effective, from putting heat into the hand to making it possible to hold cold objects without pain, the Thermoskin gloves are a must have for anyone seeking relief from arthitis pain.

I am a paraplegic. As such my hands and wrists get strained and sore often. I do not have arthritis.

I noticed some heat but nothing to write home about. I do have the correct size but the compression aggravates my condition. I think just a decent set of warm gloves or a muffler works much better for me.

I never have been a fan of fingerless gloves but you will need the feature if you get these. They have enough compression that getting them on and especially off is not easy. You will be wearing them while you do things. Even if it is just punching a remote, writing or handling small items. I'm left to wonder how the reviewer that likes theirs gets them on and off as it takes dexterity and a good pinch grip to get your fingers to release. I can do it but I imagine someone elderly with arthritis having quite a time. Maybe the other reviewer has assistance.

If you can't pinch and pull very well you will probably need help getting them off. But if compression aids in pain relief you may like them. I have good circulation and did not notice much warmth at all. Maybe only those with "cold hands" will notice a benefit.

If possible find someplace local to try out first. Good Luck

One last thing. These are made of a neoprene like material and all the seams are sewn to stick out. So the gloves are like wearing something inside out but with stiff seams sticking out around the fingers. I found it agravating when using my fingers and hands. You may be able to see in picture. just be aware of this. they're made to be smooth againt the skin but are a bit rough on the outside what with all the seams sticking up.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Raynauds Syndrome and was suffering terribly this winter. These gloves are GREAT. They keep my hands warm in cold weather, and now in warmer weather the light compression feels so good when my hands are hurting and sore. I recommend these to anyone whose hands hurt from arthritis. The compression took a little getting used to; I initially thought I needed a larger size. But perhaps they stretched out a bit because now they fit very well, but still snug, and my hands are still swollen just as much. Now I need the same type of thing for my feet!

FYI, these gloves are similar to neoprene, with two layers of stretch fabric. There is no raveling at the edges and the seams are placed where they won't irritate tender knuckles or wrist joints. The outer fabric is covered with little gripper bumps that is very helpful when holding items such as cups - nonslip and doesn't take much pressure to hold onto things (for those of us with limited grip strength this is super).

I love these gloves especailly that they have longer fingers than most gloves. I have nodules on the knuckles just below my finger nails and most open fingered gloves don't have fingers long enough to cover those painful knuckles especially on my thumb. Often the end of the thumb on the glove comes right across the middle of that very sensitive knuckle. My only issue is the material. I work in an office and use they key board all day. The sound and rough feel of the nobby material is a nuisance. If the nobbiness could be smoothed out and maybe a variety of colors available it would be a perfect glove for me.

These gloves are pretty useful, though I can't sleep in them, as the review stated. The gloves fit perfectly (I ordered a size S, I have tiny hands) but they make my hands feel too warm and tingly when I am asleep. In the winter, after work or after dinner or whatever when my hands are sore, these are great to put on and wear for awhile. I'd be more pleased if they were a bit airier, allowed for more air circulation. If it's warm and your hands sweat, they do not breathe very well. These are small complaints compared to the soothing help provided to my hands.

It's difficult to type on a computer and do some other things that require precision, but they are pretty mobile and very comfortable. I'm a huge fan, I'd suggest them to anyone with psoriatic (or any kind of) arthritis, especially people with small, brittle fingers. They were totally worth the money and make your hands feel warm, tingly and massaged. There aren't many options for people with sore hand joints, especially if you live somewhere with cold, dry winters, and these are a must-have.

The warmth keeps the joints comfortable, the special fabrics keep the skin cool even though the hand is warm, and the compression helps circulation and pain control. I was skeptical when I bought it but since it was so well thought of orthopedically, I tried it. I am very glad I did.

These are excellent support gloves. They cover all of my finger joints. Be sure to measure your size on the chart next to the picture for best fit. Mine fit perfect, but I can not wear them all day because of chaffing in bewteen index finger and middle finger where the finger webbing comes together. Other than the irritation, it is a great glove to keep swelling down. It is also ok to type with. I would recommend this to a friend. I have hand washed mine and dripped died it and it fit the same, plus it smelled beter. Another draw back is when you first get the gloves, over a few days they will start to smell a little,I have kept mine clean and dryed, and contrubuited the funny smell to the newness of the glove. I have washed the gloves since then and I have not experienced any problems. When I put my gloves on I can immediatley fell the joint swell. The gloves will bring the swelling down because when I remove the gloves I could feel the joints going swelling back. So at first the gloves push the swelling back and keeps the sweliing down until the gloves comes off. I use mine to keep the multiple gangloin cyst that riddle my joints from swelling. I would also like to mention the glove does a good job in supporting the wrist joints-

bought these for my husband. He has minor arthritis in his hands and works with them all day long. at night he can slip the gloves on any watch tv and he says the compression gives him some relief from the pain. I bought a different type for my father in law He is not as happy with his.

I purchased these gloves to protect my last two fingers on my left hand. Nerve damage has caused these 2 fingers to be very sensitive to the cold. The glove provides the protection, warmth and still allows typing on the computer. An excellent product.
