I always found that bike rides of 30 miles or more usually meant I'd start cramping, depending on how hard I rode. This would be regardless of how much I drank (or how little). Although, the harder I rode, the more difficult the cramping would be. I've actually had to get off and walk the bike and have someone pick me up, it's been that bad. I tried many things with mixed results but ultimately nothing worked particularly well .. then an endurance athlete told me about the thermotabs.

Now, as soon as I feel a cramp coming on I'll take one or two thermotabs (or endurolytes by Hammer, btw). Cramps will disappear, bottom line. I've used these on centuries and longer rides, they work .. and I'm now years into using them. Maybe this sounds like a commercial but if you have leg cramps as serious as I've had then you know it's a serious problem and not much else helps. My only concern is higher salt intake can have health ramifications but I get a physical every year and the doctor says it's okay.

I have standing low blood pressure, I am required to take these three times a day.. If I don;t take the salt tablets I supplement with Gatorade ,or Powerade, or anything with salt. But, these Salt Tablets work awesome. They help my fatigue, dehydration and all around they just keep me balanced.

Living in the heat of the Southeast United States, Thermotabs have now become a staple of my hydration process for working outside for long periods of time. Although not every pharmacy keeps them in stock, most should be able to order them for you. But, Amazon's price can't be beat!! They're $6.99+tax at my store!!

Now that I've reached 40, the heat and humidity affect me more. To the point of getting dizzy and getting a headache very easily in high temperatures. We recently had a large outdoor cleanup project we had to tackle and it couldn't wait till cooler weather. I started getting leg cramps 6 hours into the task, so I sent my son to the store to get some of these as I'd heard they worked. And believe me, they did. Only took about an hour to stop the leg cramp I had that kept coming back over and over and stopping me from working. They also took care of that sick feeling that was coming over me, as well as the headache that had started.

I cooled off, drank some more Gatorade and water, and went back to work. Wasn't bothered by a single headache or leg cramp again for the next two days. Thermotabs work (I was skeptical, until I used them) and I won't ever tackle another outdoor project in the summertime without them. Thank you, Thermotabs!!

I have a neurological problem that leads to syncopy (fainting) if I become dehydrated. I also used to have severe leg and foot cramps at night - thought it was a reward for passing 60. Thermotabs have been a life-saver. As with any salt supplement, doctor's ok is a GOOD idea. After a sweat session - working in the yard, etc. - I wash down a Thermotab or two with a bottle of Crystal Light's Hydration - also available at Amazon. Thank you Amazon

I am not a nutritionalist (or speller) but in the summer when I sweat and loose water and salt it seems that no matter how much water I drink I still get cramps, like my body is not able to absorb/process the water. When I am diligent about taking these it helps me. I do not eat much salt foods and never add salt so maybe that's why I need extra...heck maybe it's in my head, but I don't care, it works. If you get cramps even though you drink plenty of water and eat bananas, try these.

This product was recommended to my husband by his cardiologist. I would highly recommend that you seek a doctors advice before adding to your diet. Husband has low blood preasure and takes these to help raise his preassure. They have come highly recommended to him by his doctor. If you already have high blood pressure then these could be very dangerous for you. Are great for summer heat but you need to be aware of what they can do to you.

Out-of-the-blue my muscles became very painful to use. It was really painful to squat or step down -- very difficult to be active. I tried all I could think of to relieve the muscle pain. I want to say it bordered muscle paralysis. One day it dawned on me the cause. I perspire a lot because I mow an 1 1/2 acre tract with a push mower. Although I drink a tremendous amount of water, it wasn't enough. I realized my body was losing salt as well. I looked it up and remembered we sweat water and salt. The salt is imperative to the absorption of water; i.e. I was drinking a lot of water but didn't have the salt nutrient to absorb it back into my system. This caused severe pain and lessening of my muscular use. I started asking the neighborhood stores for salt pills but the clerks kept saying they didn't sell them. Then I found a pharmacist that told me they are called, Thermotabs. Most drug stores sell them. I guess within a couple of days, all the symptoms disappeared. Now I keep them on hand regularly. I know now to take these pills or stay stocked in sport drinks that have salt and potassium.

Not much more to say, it is salt you can swallow. I now realize my chronic headaches and severe thirst was due to dehydration even though I drive water all day long. I needed more salt in my body so I would retain the water.
