Product Description

This adhesive is a paper backed sheet of solid heat activated adhesive. It uses a low temperature and short pressing time so it allows for a wider range of materials that can be bonded. There is no steam or pressing cloth needed. Will not lift or pucker after washing. Its no-sew bond is three times stronger than any other traditional fusible web. Lite hold works best with delicate and lightweight fabrics. This package contains one 5-1/2yd roll of 17in wide adhesive. Made in USA.

Heat and Bond lite is perfect for making my appliqué quilts.
Susan
This has been difficult to find in stores, so I was glad to be able to find on the web.
Kimberly Goering
It didn't adhere AT ALL to the foundation fabric, no matter how much I ironed it.

I am an avid quilter, and usually purchase this product at my local Wal-mart, due to the price. On a whim I decided to check Amazon's price, and I am so glad I did! It is cheaper, and with no tax, and free shipping, it is a huge bargain!! I just hope Amazon continues to offer it in the future!

I use this product daily in my sewing business. Heat n' bond lite is a life saver when creating sewn appliques. The machine needle doesn't get gummy like it does with heavier thermo web papers. I also like ordering 5 yard quantities at a time

I doubt that anything will ever be as good as Aleene's Fusible Web, but since I ran out of the bolt I had when they quit making it, this will do just fine. It's easy to use, has a paper backing to draw on, is light weight in the finished product.

Not sure what I may be doing wrong, but even after pre-washing the fabric I was using, this stuff just didn't adhere the two materials together well. The thermoweb itself sticks well to the applique, but the applique just doesn't stick well to the fabric on which I was sewing it. I followed the directions...maybe I just got a bad batch?

I like the good value in this package, and it performs reasonably well for what I need it to do.

But I would always plan on sewing the edges down after pressing the appliques in place. The edges raise before the piece is even laundered, so I can't imagine that it will stay on well during washing and drying.

It helps to turn your project over and iron from the back.

And when you're applying the adhesive to the piece that you're going to cut out, use only enough heat and time to barely get it stuck to the fabric. If you press too long or too hot, the adhesive will melt into the applique fabric and there isn't enough left to bond it to the foundation piece.

I haven't had a bit of trouble with this product gumming up my needle, so that's a huge plus. I'm making appliques for liturgical vestments, silk and lame on polyester brocades - very difficult to sew without this adhesive's stabililizing influence on the fabrics.

Trying to apply long bands of bias-cut silk or jacquard ribbon so that they are absolutely straight and even can be a nightmare, but if you cut a piece of this adhesive from the roll about two feet long, you can fold it and put it through a paper-cutter to cut long strips just a little bit narrower than the ribbon - press it onto your base fabric and the adhesive will hold it while you stitch it. Perfectly straight and even and no pulling your hair out.

I used this to do some appliques on a quilt I made for my grandson. He had to have his owls !!! It helped hold them in position for attaching and avoided fraying of regular cotton fabrics.

I prefer this to fusible interfacing because I use it to applique Greek letters on shirts, bags, etc, and I think it gives an excellent hold and it is very easy to use.
