4.0 out of 5 stars Good for a totally anonymous band, November 17, 2002

This review is from: These Are the Plans (Audio CD)
I bought this album having no idea what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised with the turnout. CFP really makes a nice blend of bumpin bass lines, synthesizers, and heavy guitar licks to produce an album that sounds like a cross between something Beck, They Might Be Giants, or N.E.R.D. would release. At times in the songs parts get repetitive like some choppy trance mix, but Call Florence Pow makes up for it in other songs with interesting singing patterns and harmonies. Some of their stronger tracks are "Speed G Tappin Master," "I'm Traveling," and the surpisingly mellow "Late Tonight."

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite band...ever., April 8, 2004
This review is from: These Are the Plans (Audio CD)
Anyone who's into music for music's sake will love this. Personally, I don't know why they^re not wildly famous. I mean, "Periodic Table" got me through high school. Now, almost through with college, they are still my all-time favourite band. Highly, highly recommended.

I couldn't recomend this album highly enough. Great poppy/punky/groove kind of sound. 57.5 bars and Speed Tappin Master changed my life. I really wish they would put out another album...
