Disclosure: There's a *small* chance that I might've written some of these songs and/or played one or more instruments on this album.
"These curds don't run" is the culmination of a half-decade, cross-country love affair with music - spanning several studios and a few makeshift would-be studios. Within its confines you'll find a healthy dose of uber-catchy harmony-laden soon-to-be pop classics, crunky funk thick with horns, a lazy lounge litany lamenting the loss of blargh and the ultimate panty-wetter ballad - all crafted by Ethan McCarty and Dan Dreifort, for you, the listener. This sometimes tight, sometimes not, eclectic effort basks in performance contributions from Kiku Collins, Kevin Jenkins, and members of bands: Vellumn, Malachi Constant and The Choke. I've heard this album hundreds of times over the past year, and I still like hearing it. The cover and CD art by Eli Neugeboren is iconic, cute and vibrant, suitable for framing in a very small frame or for hanging on that open wall in the great room of your daughter's doll house. more 411 at [...]
