A good quality body of work; good producayion and lyrics.
Keenon Harris
I was really impressed by the wordplay he used as well as his ability to collaborate with different producers and artists.

These Days..., while flawed, is a great hip hop album with creative rhymes and great production.

Ab Soul's new album "These Days.... is a sonic virtuoso body of work. The album is a deep blend of socially penned lyrics and vesatile musical soundscapes. Ab Soul is the most cerebral and socially accomplished m.c in hip hop today. Brash, comical, serious but lyrically razor sharp with every verse he spits. " Tree of Life" , "Nevermind" and the verbal eargasm joint " kendrick's Interlude" is just a few examples of how great this album is. Ab soul is probably the most heartfelt, soulful and educated lyricist in hip hop since Black Star, ATCQ, Commonsense and legendary artists alike. Ab soul always takes me on musical journeys with deep thoughtful songs that resonate in my psyche unlike any other artist has in years. Fearless and always taking risks creativity wise, Ab Soul is still light years ahead of the competition even on his ignorant songs like "TWAC" featuring Short Dawg and Jay Rock."Gods Reign" featuring super talented SZA is a hypnotic banger! I was very excited to see Lupe Fiasco make a appearance on this album also, because I always have felt like Ab Soul and Lupe were similar type artists. But Ab Soul is in a lane of his own with complex flows and politically deep thought provoking music. If deep lyricism with a pinch of social/political commentary meshed with spiritual connotations is your type of hip hop, then"These days".... is the album you most definetely need today! TDE keeps putting out absolute masterpieces. Real hip hop will never die in "These days"... Solo!!!!!!!!!

I'm a big K Dot fan and have also been listening to Ab-Soul music ever since I went to their concert last summer in Raleigh. He really out did himself with this album, have been listening to it for a few days straight now!

Solid album, a few tracks I wasn't really feeling, but overall a good listen. Favorite track was the last 2 minutes of just have fun (these days). If you're into the underground hip-hop scene this album won't disappoint. It'll take a few more listens to see if it's has heavy rotation on my pmp. If you're on the fence about it, just buy it, it's worth it.

Ab-Soul, the often underrated member of Hip Hop quartet Black Hippy, including cohorts Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q & Jay Rock. Ab-Soul has been rapping for years releasing mixtapes and independent albums, but gained critical attention in 2012 with the release of his stellar album "Control System", an album that proved Ab-Soul's rapping skills as a thought provoking story teller as well as a witty, spiritual MC. Since then, Ab-Soul has kept quiet, but always working consistently collaborating with his fellow TDE members on their respective projects as well as a some memorable guest appearances with the likes of Macklemore, Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, Danny Brown and Jhene Aiko just to name a few. it has been a full 2 years since the release of Control System, and Ab-Soul fans have been patiently waiting for a new album; and now with the release of "These Days...", we will see if Ab-Soul can deliver a 2nd time.

Those expecting a Control System 2, will be utterly disappointed with These Days..., but those open to just accept the new music will find enjoyment with this new album. Soul has stated many times in recent interviews that the intention behind this album was to have fun more than anything, and while Ab-Soul's addresses familiar issues based on societal norms, religion, existentialism as well as typical Hip Hop clichés (drugs, money, women), the music is drastically different from anything Ab-Soul has released before. The production features sinister synthesizers, heavy bass as well as many guest features either rapping, singing, or otherwise just on the song for the hell of it. The perfect example of this are songs such as "Hunnid Stax" saying to only feature ScHoolboy Q, but also an uncredited hook from Mac Miller and a random end monologue from Puff Daddy himself???

Disappointed in Soul...too dumbed down for the masses, not enough Soul(Pun Intended) too carry the album into greatness but it's still TDE
