HER BEST BOOK,

This review is from: These Foolish Things (Hardcover)
I liked this one the best of I Parker's works. I can't help feeling that in later books she tends to concentrate more and more on the rich and fancy of London, if you're not a top journalist or a surgeon or a businesswoman, she's not interested mostly. but in this we have three differnet women who all have babies at the same time. They have a speical connexion... They are all nice in their different ways. It depicts the pleasures and perils of having a baby quite well...G

This review is from: These Foolish Things (Hardcover)
My daughter brought this book home with her from London and I read it, totally unprepared for the fact that I'd become a new fan of Imogen Parker. It's a wonderful book. The ensemble cast of young parents who meet at a birthing class are fresh, moving and utterly believable. As we progress through the first year of their children's lives, we become immersed in the joys, sorrows, betrayals and loyalties of these friends and lovers. Parker is a vivid and sophisticated storyteller who deftly deals with problems that effect so many of us. Highly recommended!
