5.0 out of 5 stars Worth his weight in Devil-Cakes
He uses his powers to enchant girls during live performances, and make boys ache with envy. He strips, he shakes, he contorts, he screams all while pounding the hell out of that organ of his. I love this man. And Miss Pussycat tours with him. She puts on lovely puppet shows and helps our main man out by shaking her maracas as accompaniment to his fiendish frenzies. The...

2.0 out of 5 stars Quintron is great, this album...not so much
I consider myself a fan of Quintron. His live shows are not to be missed. They're full of energy, and scatting, and inexplicable noises. I bought all the albums up to this one, and I must say I was disappointed.

The earlier albums were fantastic. They contained a good mix of odd grooves and what-the-hell-is-that. This album though I thought was lacking a...

The cd's can bearly contain him. Buy Them Now. You just can't go wrong with someone this intense and crazed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eternal Underground Classic!!!, August 16, 1999

This is the best introduction to one of the most enigmatic of organists from the belly of the deep south, 9th ward New Orleans. I can't recommend this disc enough for sheer mystery alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quintron is the man!, April 29, 2003
This review is from: These Hands of Mine (Audio CD)
We just saw Mr.Quintron and Miss Pussycat play live in Detroit on April 25th 2003. This was the best, coolest, strangest, and most energetic show I have ever seen. His Organ playing is the sinister groove and his invented drum machines (AKA Drum Buddy) roll out the most funky beats ever. My favorite tune is 9-4-9 on his other album, but this is actually the best album to start with. And by all means GO SEE HIM LIVE. This stuff is crazy.

It's just an awesome album. It's a perfect advertisement for the Drum Buddy and a pretty good collection of electronic jams.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wiiiiiiilllllldddddd...., February 16, 2000

This album is crazy in the best of ways. The few and far between lyrics are as disorienting as the music. Tracks 2, 3, and 4 are true keepers, but all are enjoyable if you keep an open mind. Not for the normal. BTW, try listening to the tracks in their numbered order on the back. It strips the album of its novelty approach and makes it more real. Depends on how you like it, though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Quintron is great, this album...not so much, September 21, 2005

This album though I thought was lacking a lot of the energy that made Quintron great. It also had some serious stinkers that I just couldn't stomach. "It's Moving Me," for example -- yeah, the whole song sounds like that. I ended up selling this CD for a couple bucks.

If you're interested in Quintron I'd recommend you steer clear of this one and pick up one of the earlier gems. "Satan Is Dead" is good as is "The Amazing Spellcaster" and "IF 001-011" (if you can find it anymore).
