Matchbox 20's songs have tended to fall into two categories: sappy romance or mopey "poor me." This time, Matchbox 20 has taken the inspirational route... and it works! Rob Thomas is at his best when he's NOT singing about himself. "These Hard Times",though it was released last year,is timely. It's about surviving and thriving under difficult circumstances. It's sad and hopeful. It's a rousing,anthemic song. "These Hard Times" shows inspiration. These may be hard times,but its soundtrack is great!
