This review is from: These Strange German Ways and the Whys of the Ways: For the curious, such as business people, accompanying spouses, students, tourists and armchair travelers (Paperback)
I purchased this book in advance of our German exchange student's arrival and found it to be quite informative and entertaining. Germany is a very complex country and it's impossible to make generalizations about the people and culture, but this book is a solid introduction to both. The author is by her own admission quite wordy and some of the chapters overlap a bit, but it's not meant to be read from cover to cover. You can pick it up, flip through it to a section that grabs your interest, and begin reading without needing context. Definitely a fun way to dip your toe into those strange German ways...
