Has the older, inferior, bellows pump...,

Thetford seems to be moving over from the older, inferior, bellows fresh water pump, to a much better piston pump. This model has the older pump. The problem? If you bellows cracks (and mine did, you may have guessed), Thetford will want almost $35, plus shipping, for a new piston pump! I can't see buying a product which, if a small part breaks, will cost me more than half of the price for the whole unit. I think it would be better to buy a less expensive unit first... and one which comes from the factory with piston type pump. Rich.

Purchased as a stand-by toilet for travel or power outages. It stores well as when it is empty it is quite light. I have a rain barrel out side that I can use to fill the tank if needed. I got this one as it was the lower priced Thetford unit that I could find online. Note check your local Wal-Mart first as they may have a comparible unit in the camping section for less. (considering shipping)

This unit doesn't leak or splash out and is an all around better designed unit than the 2 comparably priced Colemans I have used.
