I have used this tester for years now. It works flawlessly and its design works well on many applications. Word of caution, just because it has a plastic shield doesn't mean it is protecting you from the spark. If you get a finger too close, it will get you. I know.

I was working on a mower that was run out of oil and had a brake on the engine dragging. I was almost sure I had a bad coil. I used the spark plug grounded on the engine to check the coil but I must have had a bad ground. I saw this on Amazon and say that you could adjusted it for each engine you were working on and ordered it up. it came in a few day and I tried it on the mower with what I though was a bad coil. I hooked it up and had my wife give it a pull and BINGO I had a good blue spark. I had a hard time seeing the spark at first in a well lite garage but turning off a few light and you can see the blue spark. for $15 including shipping it a great tool for small engines to check for spark. before this one I had a tester with a small light bulb in but it didn't work very well and I don't think the bulb grounded well on the inside of the tester. So if you tinker with small engines buy one these testers well worth the $15.

This spark tester is used with good results in my outboard motor repairs.
It's a good cheap tool that now that I've used it, I wouldn't be without one.

Difficult to see if you have spark on small engines when they fail to start. This little tool solves the problem, simply remove the spark plug and install the tester, lets you visually see the spark.

This product works as advertised. The spark does not show up well in bright light so I shielded the tester using a black trash bag. I did not consider this to be a problem when compared with the price of the tester.

The spark tester performs as advertised. Its small but does the job. The added feature is the adjustable gap to indicate the spark voltage. Worked great on a small engine.

I bought this to replace one I purchased over twenty years ago. The product has been improved. The older version came apart when you removed it from the spark plug wire. I would have to pull it from the wire with pliers. Over the years it got so loose that I lost the end piece. I wish they would have thought of making it one piece years ago.
