Silly title, great book,
By Rachel S (Maryland!) - See all my reviews
This review is from: They Call Her Dana (Paperback)
I've never read a book by this author, but enjoyed this one tremendously. This is the story of Dana, an orphan from the swamps of Louisiana, and her attempts to make good in the world. It's not literary fiction, and is just a little shy of a bodice ripper, but it's a fast-paced, steamy read, with well-written characters and an interesting story. Some of the details may be off a bit--Dana wears more makeup than most ladies would have in that time and she mentions having a tan, something that would have been an no-no back then--but it doesn't distract from the story, and, really, this is a book that entertains more than anything. All in all, a good vacation, escapist read.

Superb characters, superb writing. This is actually the last book J Wilde wrote. As all of J wildes books, this was enchanting, a little similar to Angel In Scarlet as the main character is an actress, but enjoyable all the same.

Boy, this has got some hot scenes which will make you grit your teeth and need to change your clothes.Nothing can compare to "Loves Tender Fury" but this is pretty good stuff.

Great Book,

This novel suprised me since it didn't follow the usual "love at first sight" situations of romance novels. I liked the fact that Dana does come to realize that her true love is with a man that she could be herself. A true novel idea for this genre of books.

I am a huge fan of Jennifer Wilde's books, this is a great story. What I love the most about these stories is that the book is written from the perspective of the subject of the book, the detail is wonderful and you actually feel like your in the places and can smell the detail written in the book. The heroine has multiple lovers but is true to her love, although in this story i wish the ending had turned out a little happier. I recommend all of Jennifer Wilde's books to anyone who will listen.
