Spellbound,

I bought this album after having purchased Bliss' other albums (Quiet Letters and Afterlife) and this one is simply captivating.
The tracks are a combination of orchestral, acoustic and slightly tribal pieces, and, strange as it may seem, they blend together beautifully. As with Bliss' other albums, this one can be played as either ambient or intentful listening music. I must admit to be completely enthralled with Bliss' music and this compilation is as completely satisfying as all of their other albums.

Simply Superb,

Lush, invigorating, introspective... These words can hardly do justice to such a fine CD. Listen and you will understand for yourself. Much better and a vast departure from "Afterlife" or their most recent offering "Quiet Letters" in my opinion. Superb!

A Quiet Conversation...,

The production team of Bliss (Marc-George Andersen & Steffen Aaskoven) were commisioned to write a soundtrack for a series and this is the end result. For many expecting the same classic, melancholic sound as before, they do not disapoint.
Some of the songs, such as "The Return", "A Quiet Conversation", and "Epilogue", were previously only available on vinyl, only recently have they been made available through this soundtrack. Some of the songs are instrumental renditions of songs featured on their previous albums, but for the most part, most of the material is different in the fact that its leans closer to a classical aproach, yet it retains the sound that is unmistakably Bliss. If you already have both previous albums, this is a perfect companion to those cds. If you have never heard of Bliss before and are unfamiliar with their previous work, this is still a notable release worth taking a listen.

Bliss has done it again.. and this time THEY made history. This album is no exception from their earlier work... its a sure one way ticket to a world of tranquility and peacefulness.
I just wish that the videos included were longer though, but they are amazing especially the kissing video... a work of art.

There are very few people I would say walk the line of genius, but Bliss has proved worthy. Their creativity is deep and very emotional. With music like this, who needs reality. Close your eyes and let your mind melt with this music. I still get chills when I listen to Unanswered Letters....beautiful work guys.

The music of Bliss from Denmark, is my best discovery over the last 10 years..!
I am amazed by their intelligent touch and delicacy and depth of their music. Everytime I listen to their records, it amazes me how I love their melodies, but especially the variation in soundscapes, rhytms, the instruments they use. It completely fits my life frequency and taste. Ths album AFTERLIFE is maybe the best they made, although I also love QUIET LETTERS very much. All my friends are equally impressed everytime they hear BLISS the first time. Anyone who likes downtempo, melodic music will fall in love - for sure!

Perfect for studying or working on the computer,

Two months ago, I didn't know "Bliss". I've been looking for an album to listen too while studying, something calm, but nothing to put me asleep. I didn't want too much lyrics, because it's distracting when you want to concentrate.
I found Buddha-Lounge and it was okay, but some songs were too noisy for what I was looking for. So I kept searching and I found East Wind, "Gotan Project" and Hotel Tara, it's nice, I still listen to it. But... I wanted more so I kept browsing on Amazon and listening to music samples and then... I found Bliss. I've started with the album Quiet Letters and They Made History and I couldn't stop listening to them. It's EXACTLY the kind of music I want when I'm working on the computer, studying or simply relax. The music is soothing, calming without sounding "new age". The violin brings a classic touch in many songs and you can hear the accordion in a few songs wich I think is very original. We don't hear this instrument often and Bliss brings it beautifully. After a few weeks, I bought Afterlife and No One Built This Moment and I can tell you, I never skip a song on the albums, because I love them all. |
