They Must Be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It

We last saw Brigitte Gabriel emerging from her childhood, escaping Palestinian jihadis trying to kill her and her family for no better reason than that she was Christian, in her aptly-titled first book, Because They Hate. She was a forward scout in the resistance to jihad. Her first book was a literal debriefing, and They Must Be Stopped is an interpretive debriefing. Together they sound an alarm that must be heeded. Gabriel shows us that Islam is not a religion in the sense we understand the word. It is a political doctrine, and the central tenet of that doctrine is the conquest, through force, of all humanity. Gabriel gives us a concise summary of Islam's evolution through the ages into the implacable doctrine of hate that it is today. She describes Islam's rise (its occupation of the Holy Land and The Ottoman Empire) and its fall, which so perplexes muslims. Gabriel shows that it was the Industrial Revolution, which wholly bypassed the Islamic world, which ultimately defeated it. To this day muslims cannot fathom their humiliating status in the world, and they supplicate Allah to return their dignity and power.

They Must Be Stopped is a wake-up call for the West which "wallows in a state of denial and ignorance, bullied by political correctness and refusing to listen to our enemies who have an understanding of peace and tolerance different from ours." She shows that democratization is not an end in itself. Hamas and Hezbollah, for instance, are democratically elected terrorist organizations. More elections in the Islamic world would only create more radical Islamic regimes opposed to and threatening Western values. The unfortunate truth is that the repressive regimes in Egypt, Saudia Arabia, and Jordan are our natural allies in that they keep the cork in the bottle of Islamic terrorism. For readers unfamiliar with the global extend of Islamic terrorism since 9/11, Gabriel provides a summary. Conclusion: they have been very busy, not as subdued as you might have thought.

And if you think Gabriel is being bombastic or is exaggerating the threat which she knows so intimately, listen to Ayatollah Khomeini, "The Almighty himself taught us how to kill." Or read the Koran for yourself: "When you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle, smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them." (Koran 47:4), or "Your Lord inspired the angels with the message: I am with you. Give firmness to the Believers. I will terrorize the unbelievers. Therefore smite them on their necks and every joint and incapacitate them. Strike off their heads and cut off each of their fingers and toes." (Koran 8:12). "Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah." (Koran 8:39) "Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them. They are your enemy and Allah's enemy." (Koran 8:59)

Brigitte Gabriel is a crystal clear thinker and a compelling writer. She suggests, for instance, that if you think you know a "moderate" muslim, just ask him or her to condemn the atrocities committed against innocent civilians in the name of Islam, and you will learn just how thin that veneer of moderation actually is. She shows us how modern muslims veil terrorism by referring to it as "fourth generation warfare." She shows us that radical Islam is an adversary which will not reason, will not rest, will not compromise; it is inspired by both victory and by defeat, and its goal is your elimination. They Must Be Stopped.

Gabriel concludes her vitally important book with commonsense prescriptions for meeting the threat from radical Islam. The fact is that you are actually going to have to do something. In order to stem the growing tide of jihad we are all going to have to join the resistance in some way. Gabriel provides a thoughtful list of actions you can take. She finishes with a note of emotional gratitude to American men and women in uniform. "Words tremble on my lips and emotions swell in my heart for in gratitude for your service and your sacrifice...for protecting America and the world...Let my grateful tears thank you..."

This is a most fabulous book. Mrs. Gabriel convincingly shows that purist Islam is a real threat to Western civilization and that it must be stopped. She explains Islamic identity, how Islam sees the West, and what the problem is. She shows that we do not face a fringe of "evil doers" who have hijacked a peaceful religion -- rather we face purists who have 'cleansed' their religion the outside environment and are trying to do what the Koran says-- "purists who drink their Islam straight". She points out that the claim "Islam is a religion of peace" ... well, Nazism and Communism were ideologies that said they wanted world peace. Islam could be called a religion of peace, but so because muslims have a different understanding of the word peace from Western secularists. The book shows that Islam is a religion of conquest, i.e., it is political in ways other religions are not. The book shows how many 'moderate' muslims want to take over the West and the World through non-violent means if possible (education, propaganda, receiving concessions, etc.) and want to reestablish the caliphate (empire) under shariah [Islamic law]-- think about Western Europe as a new huge Saudi arabia (in laws, customs, etc.)The book then shows how women and minorities are treated in ways they may not like under Islam, and how muslims use multiculturalism, diversity, and sensitivity to make the West become islamicized. She has a chapter about how Europe is being islamified, and points out that the West had better wake up before it is too late. Mrs. Gabriel correctly points out the the Political correctness is a real threat to the West's survival, and explains how we can stop the cultural jihad waged against us.

This book is a must read, for many seem to believe that we as a civilization are invincible, since the West has been dominant for over 500 years (since 1492). This is not the case. For futher reading, I recommend America Alone, by Mark Steyn; Londonistan, by Melanie Philips, and While Europe Slept, by Bruce Bawer.

This book is one of the best on this most timely subject.

I cannot understand why the cultural elite is ignoring this call to arms..Where is the ACLU who shudder at the thought of Jesus Christ being mentioned in public schools or the displaying of the Ten Commandments do nothing to stop the indoctrination of Islam in the public schools..Why is this lady not being interviewed by the main stream media...Diane Sawyer, Whoppi Goldberg, Adrianna Huffington, etc..will be the first to be killed by Islamic fanatics if and/or when they take over....
Both the Republicans and Democrats are at fault in allowing these enemis of humanity to set up a foothold in our cultural..Could we have won World War II if we had allowd schools preaching Nazism in our country...

Brigitte is the modern day, female Paul Revere. She is a shining light of clarity and passion. While her first book, Because they Hate, described her personal experience as Islamists turned Christian Lebanon into a Muslim state, this book looks deeply into the threat to America and the free world from radical Islam. She is a couragous voice for rolling back the "lawfare" and cultural jihad that is intent on conquering and subjugating the free world to this 7th century ideology. She reveals our enemies plans, tactics and documents their progress so far. You will notice that the people who gave this book a low rating and say it is full of lies do not document any examples. They simply attach and try to discredit the author. But, this book is based on documented facts and direct quotes from the Islamic religious texts. If you want to know how we can win this new kind of warfare, buy this book for yourself and for those you love. It will open your eyes and show you the way to a better and safer future for us all.

...who is literally risking her life to warn us of the dangers we face, just like one of the prophets of old. Nobody in their right mind does what she is doing for money; she truly understands the value of freedom and what its loss would mean. Today, nothing is more dangerous than publicly speaking out against and exposing the intentions of the Radicals. If we don't wakeup and listen we will suffer the consequences.

I don't know if selective verses in the Qur'an were placed out of their proper historical context or not in this book as one reviewer stated. And I don't know much of Arabic and Islamic history. But what I and most others care about mostly are the things that effect us in the here and now. The important point is how the radical Muslims themselves are interpreting the verses TODAY to justify the violence and oppression against not only infidels but other Muslims as well. The news is filled almost daily with how they view the meaning of these verses. They are not shy about quoting them. The author need only (and she does) echo their own recorded words to prove her points. Some may say that the radicals don't speak for them, but the loud radicals, not the mostly quiet moderates, are setting the agenda in our understanding of the Muslim world.

I personally have heard moderate Muslims say that although they are against violence, they do want to see Muslim rule in this country but by peaceful, incremental gradual takeover. The author is (among other things) bringing to our attention what is currently being said and written of by Muslims and the dangers that they pose all around us to take away our freedoms. The author states the truth, which should be obvious to all, that whether through violence or through peaceful means the goal of all true Muslims is the same, the establishment of a worldwide ruling Sharia government, a Caliphate. A complacent, politically correct public will be their greatest ally in their hoped for success.

What can I say after reading a book such as this? Not only are the barbarians at the gate, some of them are even inside the city! Those of us who are raising the alarm about the growing threat are often scoffed at by our own leaders who are tasked with protecting us and our civilization.

I recently wrote a novel (The Cell) about the time in America when Islam has grown and become even more emboldened, and about how the gangs and radicals have little opposition from the police. Looking back, I should have read this book before I wrote mine so I could describe an even more accurate picture of the impact radical Islam will have on America. And that picture is not too pretty.

The book was well-written and cited very well, and accurately described the enemy we are up against. Read the Koran for yourself and see what it teaches. The only negative I have for this book was that less than 30 pages of the book was about how to defeat radical Islam in the West. The majority of the book was about the ancient and modern history and nature of Islam. The "purer" or more fundamental a follower of Islam gets, the more violent, radical, and extreme they become.

After reading about the horrors that countless women and children face daily where Sharia courts are the law of the land, I am very thankful to be an American. Everyone who is still free should thank God every day to not have to live in the nightmare of Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. But sadly, most Americans and Europeans still don't get it that we are in a battle for our very civilization.

The radical Islamicists declare war on us time and time again, and we laugh them off - until they fly a couple of airplanes into our buildings. Then we wake up for a few months, and then go back to sleep. Either we as a civilization will rise up and force them to become civilized and tolerant, or they will defeat us and send us into another Dark Age. As I look at the West today, I see complacency and apathy, not resolve. But our enemy is neither complacent nor apathetic, and they seem to be even more resolved to overtake us.

Most Westerners cannot comprehend the barbarity that pure Islam produces, and therefore we either try to understand or appease them, while others simply ignore them and hope they'll go away. We could do that when the radicals were confined to the deserts on the other side of the world, but not when they're living among us. It's not a matter of education or economics, it's a matter of core beliefs. Islam teaches its followers to value death more than life, while most other religions teach the opposite.

The author mentions that a faithful Muslim cannot necessarily be trusted to be loyal to their host nation, especially when going to war against another nation with a significant Muslim population. When the book was written, liberals and Islamicists alike mocked her, and then we had the Fort Hood massacre. Where did the murderer's true loyalties lie: with his countrymen or with his religious leaders? Pure Islam as taught in the Koran is little more than a violent death-cult, and that shows most clearly in the "devout".

Pure Islam as practiced in Iran and a growing number of other countries is even more inhumane than the Aztecs, the Vikings, and Scythians (and yes, some 19th century slave-owners that the Left loves to cite). Even the Nazis in Germany treated its women and children with far more respect than Islamic countries. When a daughter was born to a Nazi, did they neglect or disparage them. And I don't seem to recall any "honor-killings" among the Germans as is increasingly-common in the Islamic world.

If such honor-killings and suicide-bombings are what Islamicists do to their own children - their own flesh-and-blood, what will they do to us they deem as infidels? How do you defeat a 1400 year-old death-cult that is practiced by over 1 billion people throughout the world -- and growing in both size and radicalness (or pure) every year? And if even 1/10th of 1% those are radical, that still leaves 1 million extremists.

The book delves deep into the very core of Islam (both ancient and modern). Is there any peace or tolerance in the societies where Islam is dominant? In the past, Turkey could be cited, but no longer since the Muslims there are looking back towards the East rather than the West. Is there ever peace where Islam has a significant presence? And though we have not had a major attack on America after 9 years, it is certain we will have more, because that is the nature of Islam as defined by the Koran.

As a Christian, I'm regularly taught to turn the other cheek and to do good to others regardless of whether they deserve it. In fact, most other religions have a similar pillar: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The one major religion on the planet that does not have this pillar is Islam, which in it's undiluted form teaches its followers to terrorize and kill the infidel, to either force them to believe or slay them because of their unbelief.

For those who decry the alleged human rights abuses from Israel/USA, please read this book carefully and with an honest, open-mind. You have no idea what human rights abuses are.

'They Must Be Stopped' should be read by every American. So many of us choose to put our heads in the sand when Islamofascism is mentioned but this problem driven by seventh century ideology is a threat to civilization as we know it. This is one of the very best books I've read about the Islamic threat to the world. I believe most Americans are woefully uninformed about this threat, which Brigitte Gabriel describes in detail. Hers is a compelling and very personal story that is riveting. The story about a worldwide Islamic threat has global significance. Islam has as it's goal world domination. The plan is to establish a worldwide caliphate in which Jihad will be used to force the application of Sharia law on everyone. We tend to treat Islam as just another religion. It is not. While it is a religion, it far more than that. It is an idealogy, a way of life, under which our Constitutional rights and Christian or Jewish beliefs will be meaningless. I highly recommend this book to every
American.

This thought-provoking work stands on its own as a guide to and polemic against Islamist expansionism. For background and deeper insight, I would however recommend Because They Hate, Brigitte's autobiography that covers her childhood in Lebanon. Westerners do not understand the culture and psychology of the Middle East, even in this information age. Since most countries in that region are under authoritarian or totalitarian rule, the citizens are for the most part ignorant of concepts like individual and religious liberty, tolerance and the rule of law. These virtues are in fact interpreted and portrayed as weaknesses. In addition, it's in the interest of the despots to incite hatred against the outsider in order to distract attention from the poverty and misery that they have caused.

The author unravels cluster upon cluster of misconceptions about jihad, boldly analyses the movement's history, identifies its basic beliefs, provides ample warning about the peril facing the free world and shows how to contain and counteract it. One of the book's most valuable features is a guide to jihadi formations around the world: where they are based, who their backers are and what they're targeting. This is not a matter of Right or Left but a very real threat that ought to unite all those who value Western civilization.

The first part deals mainly with controversial civil rights issues regarding the identification and apprehension of terrorists. Both Presidents Bush and Obama maintain that Islam is a religion of peace of which the minority of extremists is not representative. Gabriel disputes this view, arguing that it more closely resembles a totalitarian ideology and that many moderates are unfamiliar with certain aspects of their own belief system. Violence is not condoned only by a fundamentalist fringe but widely approved of as integral to an inherently expansionist faith that is resurgent under the direction of highly motivated leaders. Her analysis is supported by the facts of history and quotes from the movement's source documents.

The author proceeds to reveal the tactics of front organizations. The ultimate goal of both the terrorists and the perceived 'moderates' is a worldwide caliphate under Sharia Law. She exposes the various ways in which western institutions and governments are infiltrated. Petrodollars fund both the violent and non-violent approaches. The difference is that some of the 'moderates' pursue the same goal by means of propaganda, recruitment and negotiating special concessions that run counter to the laws of the host society. For decades the free world has received ample warning through plane hijackings, terrorist acts, murders of civilians, the Iranian Revolution and Taliban rule in Afghanistan but not even 9/11 has properly woken up the West. The 2006 Danish cartoon uproar and the large-scale civil unrest & vandalism in Europe since 2005 should serve as further warnings.

The oppression of women and minority groups in ME societies is vividly portrayed as is the racism that is closely associated with slavery. Ayaan Hirsi Ali who as a child lived in Saudi Arabia for a while, confirms these sad facts in her book Infidel. The West's postmodernist mindset has opened the gates for multiculturalism to be used as a weapon against it and as a shackle to render it defenseless. The way this works is brilliantly revealed by Stephen Hicks in Explaining Postmodernism. It is vitally important that defenders of freedom understand the concepts of "At-Taqqiyya" and "Ad-Dawa." The first is the craft of deception or permissible lying in order to promote the movement whilst the second is the process of gradual conversion. Networks of charities, madrassas and hospitals have been established throughout the West for this purpose.

The movement has successfully infiltrated the prison systems in Europe & the USA whilst Middle East Studies departments at universities are lavishly funded by oil-rich states, and Sharia-compliant finance is making inroads where it matters. Londonistan by Melanie Phillips exposes how the UK has become a Jihadist financial centre. Western propagandists of the resurgent faith have tried their utmost to hide the facts, undermine the truth and shut down debate. Amongst them is the ever-pious Jimmy Carter who persists in spreading disinformation, scapegoating Israel and saying 'peace' when there is no peace.

A stirring call to action, the book in its two final chapters also proposes a variety of feasible & sensible countermeasures to halt the infiltration. These include monitoring the hate literature produced & distributed by educational institutions, legislation to protect the police & security services so they may prioritize the physical safety of citizens, and close scrutiny of Sharia Banking and its tangled webs. Above all, the habit of political correctness must be challenged; the first duty of a government is to ensure the safety of its people. By now it ought to be clear from the European example that tolerance of intolerance simply fuels more intolerance. The causes & effects of this dangerous cycle are amongst the symptoms of societal decay examined by The French philosopher Chantal Delsol in her compelling books Icarus Fallen and The Unlearned Lessons of the 20th Century.

I didn't think that it was humanly possible to top her other book, "Because They Hate," but she did it. This is a fantastic book and is a must read for anyone who is curious about the world of Islam and what the future holds. 5 BIG STARS!!!!!
