THEY DIED WITH THEIR BOOTS ON WAS / IS A GREAT MOVIE.
THE NICE THING ABOUT THESE RE-ISSUES OF SUCH LONG LOST
SOUNDTRACKS, IF YOU'VE EVER SEEN THE MOVIE, LISTENING TO
THE MUSIC IS AS GOOD AS WATCHING IT IN YOUR MIND'S EYE.
THIS SCORE HAS ALL THE EXCITEMENT OF THE MOVIE EXCEPT IN
AUDIO FORM. STEINER'S COMPOSITIONS SEEM TO BE WRITTEN FOR
ERROYL FLYNN AS GEORGE ARMSTONG CUSTER.
WISH THEY COULD INCLUDE SOME OF THE DIALOG AS DONE IN CASSABANCA, GONE WITH THE WIND, BRIDE/SON OF FRANKENSTIEN.
WOULD RECOMMED FOR ACTION LISTENRS.

PLEASE do not include dialogue in these spectacular releases! The movie is the movie, dialogue and all. This CD is about Max Steiner's music, lovingly restored and presented by John Morgan and William Stromberg. The only reason I haven't given this 5 stars is that these two have done SO many fantastic recordings over the years. If you like this, check out their "Charge of the Light Brigade" on their own label, Tribute Film Classics - it's a REAL barn-burner!
