Jason Kunz says:
Obviously I haven't had a chance to read The Year of the Flood, but I have read Tama Janowitz's They Are Us (available in hardback at for months already and available for pre-order at this site now) and if these reviews are accurate the similarities are remarkable. What are the chances two writers would invent mutant pig/man creatures in labs of the future? Anyway, They Are Us is great.

CDaniels says:
Atwood introduced pigs "enhanced" with human DNA in 2003 in "Oryx and Crake," and hers are directly inspired on the real-life genetic experiments mentioned above. Janowitz's 2009 book is titled (purposely ungrammatical) "They IS Us."
