5.0 out of 5 stars Southern literature at its best, October 2, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: They Write Among Us: New Stories and Essays from the Best of Oxford Writers (Paperback)
Oxford, Mississippi has become the literary capitol of the South and i've always wondered how and why. Now I know...because the best group of writers in the world has congregated there.

I picked up this anthology as a keepsake about Oxford but could not put it down. From new pieces by Larry Brown to Ace Atkins and John T. Edge, who writes about selling hot dogs in the French Quarter. It kept me on edge.

The best is Tom Franklin and poetry by his wife, Beth Ann Fennelly. I'll never see Oxford and its writers the same and am thinking about moving South, to Oxford.
