Book Description

As a child, Bill believed in ghosts, but put that behind him as he grew up. Sixty now and divorced, with his mother dead and his father dying in a nursing home, he's finding reason to believe in ghosts all over again. But his ghosts aren't the spirits of dead friends and relatives, and they're not the ghosts of people who used to live in his apartment building. His ghosts are something worse. They hate him, and all they want is to reach him either in this world or the next. They're waiting...

Contemporary fantasy with a Twilight Zone feel.

A short ghost story, DRM-free, about 3000 words. This story is included in the author's collection The Other Iron River, and Other Stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Horror Story Got Me Thinking March 12, 2012
By Johanna
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the most thought-provoking horror short story that I've ever read. It really got me pondering death, life, and the roads not taken. The imagery in the book is quite haunting. I know this may sound strange, but this horror story was strangely life-affirming (as in better get out there and grab life by the horns) for me. It also had me reflecting on my own life (I'm 43 and hoping there will be many more years to come). . .at times, the book made me feel sad and then I felt spurred to action (or else!). I really enjoyed this read!
