Book Description

Come experience, the joys, frustrations, and laughs (especially the laughts) of a stay-at-home dad who is desperately trying to stay one step ahead of his five-year old daughter and his four-year old son. Written in a diary format over a year and a half period, this is one family experience that anyone who has ever been a parent would love to be a part of. Reminiscent of "Marley and Me", only with children and without the sad ending.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny and real April 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I've only read a sample of this book so far. It was hilarious. This dad is really present with his children. I admire any man that dedicates that necessary time for his children. There were times that I completely forgot that he was a MAN! He sounded just like a woman (mother). My favorite entry so far is where he was just worn out and he wanted some "me" time. The man just wanted some CSI! He told his wife that he didn't care if the kids were smoking Marlboros in the basement that he just wanted to watch the show!!! I laughed out loud. I can soooooo relate to this! Of course, he doesn't really mean this, but it is just so funny to picture this scenario.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious March 11, 2012
By I.K.
Format:Paperback
Easy to read; short story format! Real life situations that many parents can relate to. Whether your children are young or old it is always funny when the children are not your own! Great to see an "older" Dad getting involved and enjoying his children so much!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, but I was surprised by the language September 5, 2012
By Bmat
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I stopped reading about half way through because the language got more and more peppered. The first couple times there were cuss words I was surprised that the author would include such language in a book that dealt so much with children, and as I read on, the words became more and more evident. I would think that the author could express himself well without using salty language. I did not notice the language being used toward the children; it was used during the author's ruminations and explanations to the reader. As enjoyable as the book is, with the really creative and funny exploits of the children, and the dad's gleeful reaction to many of them, the language seemed out of place and unnecessary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny! March 12, 2012

3.0 out of 5 stars Eh.... December 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read this a few months ago, or I should say I read about 2/3 of it and then deleted it from Kindle. It got boring. How many times can a parent tell the same thing about their children without it being boring. Wait, each story was different but it was the same theme: "They're driving me crazy, but aren't they cute, smart and adorable," as the little boy climbs the wall. I didn't think the kids were wonderful, but I'm not critiquing the children. I'm writing about the book. It could have been half as long and I still would have thought dad was way too much into himself and not enough into teaching his children how to act like civilized human beings. If he was trying to garner sympathy, he doesn't get it from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful December 12, 2013

It's very rare that I laugh so hard that coffee sprays, this look at the joys and pains of children, families, and life is a winner. Kudos, Mr Kehoe, you nailed it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute book, but beware spelling/grammar errors! March 5, 2013
By Lane
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a cute book, with some cute antics and pictures of the author's children, though I'm not sure I would necessarily recommend it to anyone.

The biggest impression that stayed with me was that the book had spelling and grammar errors throughout it. I was honestly surprised when the author mentioned at one point that he had had an editor review it, because the book definitely had some common errors in it that an editor should have caught.

Still, the kids were cute (and exhausting-sounding!) and it was nice to get a glimpse into a stay-at-home dad world.
