Very well written, but..., September 2, 2011
This review is from: The Thick Blue Line (Paperback)
Having grown up in Cape May County in a law enforcement family, as well as remembering Dave and Debbie Douglass as first class citizens this book is a great insight into a horrible tragedy. The LTPD detectives in this case were first rate, never giving up, and never relying on sporadic help from the federal authorities. Jack Reemmer (it's mispelled throughout the entire book) and the chinese translator seemed woefully inadequate for the investigation, without any juice to pull in favors (Reemmer later went on to become Undersheriff of Cape May County where one of his final cases involved a correctional officer having sex with an inmate...last I heard she won a partial victory, despite a lot of evidence-notice a trend?-That's a book I would read!). The dedication of the LTPD investigators cannot be denied, and a sense of closure was hopefully achieved by the family and citizens of Cape May County.
