5.0 out of 5 stars Just an FYI
If you have a Geforce card that's anything that's above a 7xxx series or a Radeon that above (if I'm not mistaken) the X-series, it'll have major compatibility issues with T:DP and T:MA. The DirectX 10 capable drivers for the slightly more modern cards don't like the Thief series. There's a couple of options:

- If you're somewhat tech-savvy and join TTLG.com...

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT compatable with vista.
i love this game and when i got my new computer it was a big dissapointment to learn i couldn't play "thief" on it. until i found this version claiming to be compatable with vista. unfortunatly that was false advertising. it just doesn't work.

The DirectX 10 capable drivers for the slightly more modern cards don't like the Thief series. There's a couple of options:

- If you're somewhat tech-savvy and join TTLG.com forum, there are plenty of workarounds to get these games running.

- If you've got the space and a little bit of extra cash, you could be like me and find yourself an older computer for chump change to play older games. Probably the most foolproof solution.

Otherwise, hopefully further releases of the Thief series will contain a fix for the annoying video card problem.

Despite the claims that this runs on Vista, you still have to tweak it a bit for muti-processor systems. Fortunately there is a strong fan presence at EIDOS and TTLG to help figure out how to get these classic games to run!

5.0 out of 5 stars An ode to the greastest stealth game ever., November 10, 2011

I was a little hesitant to buy this. Not because of the game but because I was afraid if would not work on my laptop. I have Windows 7 and not that it was the operating system but the possibility that it would not work. I had copies of both the games beforehand, but the discs were shreaded. But I bought this and it works like a dream. I was also afraid that fan-missions would not work with it because of it being a DVD, worry not, fan made missons work fine!
Thief is the greatest stealth game ever. I was so excited when both games perform excellently on my computer. If your computer has dual proccessors or more you will have to tweak it a little. Thief does not work well with two proccessors. just go over to www.thief-thecircle.com and find the help area and it will lead you straight trough it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, February 26, 2009

While I love the Thief series this re-release is inexcusably useless. With problems that the game already has this re-release makes things simply worse, it takes far more work to fix this than this is worth, after several hours of troubleshooting I found that all i could do is yell in frustration, taking all of my restraint not to break the DVD-rom and track down the person who decided to make this.

This rating does not pertain to the game itself, only to this weak excuse of a re-release.

The box says WIN 98, ME, XP.
Well, try as I might it won't run on XP.

Changed the compatability mode to WIN 98/ME.
Get the "black screen of death"............>
Dark Project - after buying items when you click to start the mission
Metal Age - as soon as the intro screen loads

All my specs are above those listed on the box.
P4 @ 3.0
3gb RAM
Geforce 8600GT

Used the the Compatability Wizard.
Tried every option; no luck.

Contacted Sold Out Software; asked for my dxdiag and I sent it; nothing.
Their response, I should try updating my graphic card drivers; nothing.
Then try adjusting hardware accleration; nothing.
Down from Microsoft a program called Silverlight; nothing.

I have 2 copies, neither work.
Both games crash at different points ... nothing suggested has altered anything
Customer service has been responsive, they have no idea why the games won't run.
I have a generic computer ... guessing isn't in my opinion a viable reason to say it runs on XP ?

Checked their troubleshotting database for both games; no help.
