Not my genre,

This review is from: Thief of Hearts (Harlequin Intrigue, No 328) (Paperback)
I enjoy Tess Gerritsen's thrillers, and made the mistake of judging the book by its cover with Thief of Hearts. This one turns out to be a romance novel, about an American woman, beautiful and irrestistible, and an English aristocrat, each of whom catches the other while they each burgle the same man's mansion. Yes, there's some intrigue and adventure, but my tolerance for gushing about the sexiness of the protagonists is very, very low. Just let me say that this might be immensely entertaining to readers who enjoy the genre. As one who does not, I don't feel qualified to assess this particular volume with objectivity, so I'm just posting this review as warning to others who expect something else from Gerritsen.

Cute!,

I saw a TV-movie and was told this was the author of that tale---this is not. But I kept reading because I thought thisstory was even better! Jordan Tavistock thought he would do a friend a favor and [borrow] some racy love-letters, saving his friend from mortal embarrassment. Yet he shocked to find that he was not the only thief when he met up with Diana Lamb. Super characters, a great run of passion and tension and twists. Here, the book is still being passed around to be enjoyed.

Great Gerritsen intrigue,

The Thief of Hearts is Tess Gerritsen's 10th stand-alone novel. Jordan Tavistock, doing a favour for a friend, encounters a very attractive female thief whilst himself trying to steal some letters from a local wealthy playboy's bedroom. Soon, Jordan chances upon Clea Rice again, and after a narrow escape from an exploding car, their destinies seem to become irrevocably entwined. While Clea thinks Jordan would be safer leaving her to fend for herself, Jordan isn't about to let that happen. Lots of pursuit and escape, surveillance and betrayal, hair dye and wigs. Missing expensive artwork, Lloyds, sinking ships, a bit of sexy romance and hitmen all make an appearance. An enjoyable novel: Tess Gerritsen always does intrigue well.

Very satisfied with all aspects of purchase. I am a big fan of this author. Shopping on line is a great way to go with living in a smaller town and is very economical for one living on a very tight budget.
