Slip into the world of Garrett, the greatest thief the world has never seen. Thief The Complete Collection contains all three of the genre-defining stealth adventures, including the ultra-rare Gold edition of the first Thief game.

You'll need a whole new level of stealth, cunning, strategy and skill to survive!

  • Thief: The Dark Project
  • Thief II: The Metal Age
  • Thief: Deadly Shadows

Thief: The Dark Project:

As Garrett, a cynical and world-weary master thief, you must make use of stealth and intellect to complete your missions. You live in an ancient city of a fictional past, where magic and primitive technology coexist uneasily. Your victims are the city's corrupt and privileged nobility, whose wealth is at your disposal as long as their guards don't see you, at least not until it is too late.

Your dark heroics earn you the attention of a mysterious patron who offers you a fortune if you can retrieve an enormous gemstone with a notorious reputation. But it soon becomes clear that more is at stake than a comfortable retirement. Your efforts trigger a conflict between veiled powers who compete to pull your strings. You'll need all your strength and wits to discover the truth and escape from the web of intrigue and deception spun around you. Garrett's adventures will take you through moonlit city streets, guarded mansions, secure prisons, blazing factories, haunted cathedrals, abandoned ruins, grim catacombs, subterranean lost cities, and even into strange, distant realms where the laws of this earth no longer apply.

Thief II: The Metal Age:

Slip Through the Shadows. Steal to Survive.Product InformationOn the streets and rooftops of a darkened city where the forces of acorrupt sheriff loom it takes someone with a soft touch and even softer step tostay ahead of the law. 5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the most immersive game series of all time April 25, 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Thief was so far ahead of its time that the gameplay aspect actually remains superior to most modern games. The original graphics, though technically dated, retain a gritty medieval style that, in much the same way an impressionist painting does, evokes the creative mind to fill in the details with something more rich than realism alone could provide. The storyline is portrayed though a variety of mediums such as cut-scenes and mission briefings, the most immersive of which is are the in-game writings the player stumbles upon - journals, ledgers, posted notices, love notes, etc. Make no mistake, this is no run-and-gun or hack-and-slash action pack. Rather, this is a thinking-person's deliberate full experience to be savored and not rushed, like an exquisite meal or a thought provoking book or conversation. Spend a few bucks, order this game series, and prepare to enjoy a surprisingly fulfilling adventure of discovery and, ultimately, redemption.

(due to some technical difficulties, the first two games may need a little "coaxing" to run smoothly on the latest computers, but thousands of faithful Thief fans have managed it without much issue, and they are willing to lend a hand to any who need help. The TTLG.com Thief forums are probably the best place to find answers or ask a question)

PS - There are also hundreds of "fan missions" available free. These are finely crafted single-player "maps" you can download and play after finishing the main storyline. In fact, there are a few fan created campaign sets, made by teams of ultra-dedicated super-fans over multiple years, that rival the full-length games themselves! In effect, you're getting far more than three games with this deal. Download missions at KeepofMetalandGold.com, ThiefMissions.com, and other repositories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thief Series May 29, 2011
Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
So, I'm in a difficult position with this, because I've got to rate the collection as well as the individual games.
Well, let me start off by saying that, yes, the collection is definitely worth it for the first two games alone. The original Thief games by Looking Glass studios definitely belong in anyone's list of Top 10 best games ever made. A deeply developed setting, engaging story, gameplay and atmosphere immersive enough that it overshadows the few small bugs that pop up now and then. Thief 1 and 2 are fun games well worth playing.
Thief 3, not so much. The levels are much smaller and lose a lot of the exploration element that made the first two games so much fun, the controls are not as tight and the story, while good, doesn't quite live up to the original two. All of these would have been forgivable if not for some jarring inconsistencies in the world details that repeatedly took me out of the game - including one with the Keeper Assassins that is so bad that I'm not sure it isn't just a glitch in the AI programing. It's kind of a shame, actually, because with some of the gameplay changes they made, along with the vastly improved graphics and AI, this game could have been better than even Thief 2, the highlight of the series, but as it stands, I'd rather play the other two over it.
That's the game themselves. The only problem you might find is that the first two games are incompatible with duo-core processors, making them unplayable on modern computers without a special emulator program, which any of the many Thief fansites will be happy to point you to. Me, I still have an old computer that the games will run on, so it was definitely worth the purchase for me. If you want to consider yourself a true Gamer, these are games you have to play.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Games I'll Ever Love January 31, 2013
By Raetsel
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
So, it's 2013... and no game has yet to ever touch Thief I or II. I've tried, I really honestly have, to like other games... to find another game series I could always follow and wait with baited-breath for the next to come out, but, I have decided it's completely hopeless. Looking Glass achieved perfection - nothing else will ever compare.

I have heard a lot of complaints from people over the years saying these games are difficult. I don't get it, honestly. I suppose this stems from lots of people having no patience and just wanting to run around like maniacs, shooting everything. Well, you don't have and never will get any guns :p And your sword, well, you're better off without that thing (OK, except for haunts - though you really SHOULD be sneaking past them, too - but, hey, to each his own playstyle. I'm never against piling all the unconscious Bafford guards in his pool, after all :p).

Unlike so many PC games of today, Thief I & II feel very solid. You do not feel like some obese person skating around like so many of the console ports of today feel (is it just me? :p).

The gameplay is extremely un-linear, and exploration & paying attention are rewarded. I could play through these games endlessly (and have... and will some more).

Not only is the replayability high for the games as they come, but if you tack on the insane amount of fan missions made by us crazy Thief fanatics, you have hours upon hours of gameplay at your disposal. And it's not just some hacky garbage or crappy "maps" from wannabe-devs either - the fan missions are often pure genius... testing the boundaries of the dark engine & doing unimaginably beautiful things with it!

So, yeah, then there's "Thief Deadly Shadows.
