Haha . . . I just laugh everytime I hear the name of the perfume . .. I have to admit it's original and I can see where the name comes from. Something Alien is something foreign . .unknown . . .different . ..unique . .and all those words can be applied to this perfume for this is no other like it . . .It truly is "alien" .. .In fact, when I first smelled it I was a little taken aback . . . I have to say I didn't really like it at first, but as the day grow old, the perfume started to grow on me . . .It seems to smell better and better as the day goes on which I find rather strange in itself.

Here's some fun tips/suggestions/etc. I have regarding alien

1)It's a spicy blend of amber, vanilla, orange blossom, and woods

2) The scent strength is what I like to call moderate . .as it is not too overpowering nor is it too subtle to be noticed

3) It lasts about 8-10 hours . . .Perfect for the average work day, eh?

4)While it's sohpisticated enough that I wouldn't recommend it for teens, I still would use it casually

Alien is like summer in a bottle. The description says it's a blend of amber, vanilla, orange blossom and woods--I definitely pick up some sandalwood. This is my favorite fragrance blend, but somehow Alien manages to take this combo and come up with a completely different result. Mugler had a huge hit with his Angel fragrance and all of his perfumes are based on that one scent--except for Alien. Alien doesn't fit the Angel profile. For those of us whose memories stretch way, way back into the 1980s and '90s, Thierry Mugler was the guy who perfected that big, beautiful broad-shouldered wasp-waisted look. His suits were so angular and constructed, women looked like insectile GoBots--but oh so sexy. Thierry is out of the fashion biz (the line relaunched in 2008, but Thierry is not part of it...and it shows). The fashion business' loss is perfume's gain for those who love his hipper-than-thou-but-with-humor touch. Alien is Mugler personified. It's not sentimental, not flowery. There is nothing girlish about it, but it's light, playful and very individual. I'm trying to think of something to compare it to and cannot. I like the subtlety. I won't wear perfumes that enter the room before I do. With Alien, the lightness of the fragrance is intriguing; someone has to get very, very close to you to get the full bouquet...and isn't that the reason for wearing perfume in the first place? This is a perfect scent for daytime or the office (especially if you plan on flirting with that cute young guy who's interning in sales). And the bottle alone is worth the price of admission. It's sort of GoBots-like too. Off the hook cool.

i love this fragrance--it's actually my second favorite, my first being theirry mugler's "angel". it lasts for hours and i like it even more as it fades.
