This book has the 1928 Thimble Theatre stories which lead up to and include Popeye's early days in Thimble Theatre.Castor Oyl and Ham Gravy found a good friend and protector in Popeye and Olive Oyl found a real sweetheart.See how Popeye met them,his voyage to Dice Island,how he became invulnerable,when he fell in love with Olive,how his and Castor's Depression-Related(see Oct.29,1929 strip)investment led to Popeye's first meeting with the Sea Hag on her ship,the Black Barnacle.(Spinach isn't even mentioned.)
