Corrections,
By Norm de Plume "Norm" (North Hollywood, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Thin Air (Paperback)
Just to set some facts straight -- (1) THIN AIR was authored by George E. Simpson (not George Eaton Simpson) and Neal R. Burger. (2) THIN AIR is not based on THE PHILADELPHIA EXPERIMENT, either the movie or the book by Charles Berlitz and William Moore. THIN AIR came first. THIN AIR is fiction, not fact, and was never purported to be fact. It is a fictional work based on stories that were circulating in the 1970s about The Philadelphia Experiment. It was preceded in publication by Simpson and Burger's GHOSTBOAT (1976) and was followed by their FAIR WARNING, SEVERED TIES and BLACKBONE. Burger passed away in 2005. Simpson still breathes and lives if only to correct these facts. Oh well, maybe for other reasons, too.

Good Fiction in a Twisted Genre,
By A Customer
This review is from: Thin Air (Paperback)
I have read this book many times in the last 20+ years. It has an eerie fascination. The characters are vivid and very strange. Good read for those who are familiar with paranormal and borderland science.

The first novel I ever read....,
By A Customer
This review is from: Thin Air (Paperback)
When I first saw this book in '77, I was allured by it's cover. Now it is the novel I judge all novels by. I do not presently have a copy, but I remember it's engrossing narrative that kept me up all night. When I saw the movie "Philadelphia Experiment", I was disapointed with it, I saw similarities, but this was the novel that started all, and it's told far better here.
