Book Description

A #1 bestselling Kindle mystery and Amazon 2010 Customer Favorite

"Page after page of twists make this novel a smashing success." ~Suspense Magazine

"The story flows so easily that before you know what's happened, fifty pages are gone. It practically reads itself." ~Ebook Alchemy

Craig Edmonds, a successful stockbroker, reports the disappearance of his wife, Kirsty. What starts as a typical missing person's case soon evolves into a full-blown homicide investigation when forensics uncover blood traces and dark-blonde hairs in the boot of the missing woman's car. Added to this, is Craig's adulterous affair with the victim's younger sister, Narelle Croswell, compounded further by a recently acquired $1,000,000 insurance policy on his wife's life. He is charged with murder but, with no body and only circumstantial evidence, he walks free when two trials resulting in hung juries fail to convict him.

Ten years later, Jacinta Deller, a newspaper journalist is retrenched. Working on a freelance story about missing persons, she comes across the all but forgotten Edmonds case. When she discovers her boyfriend, Brett Rhodes, works with Narelle Croswell, who is not only the victim's sister but is now married to the prime suspect, her sister's husband, she thinks she has found the perfect angle for her article. Instead, her life is turned upside down, as befriending the woman, she becomes embroiled in a warped game of delusion and murder.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read that's hard to put down! May 10, 2010

Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
From the very start Thin Blood captures the interest of the reader and builds the levels of mystery and suspense right throughout the novel. It's a well-paced book and very well-written. The characters became real people and at times the tension oozed out of the book - there are a couple of sections I'd hate to read if I was home alone at night!

Did he do it? Did she do it? Every twist and turn of the plot puts a different character in centre stage. I wasn't totally surprised by the ending as I had wondered about that possibility once or twice throughout the book but there were so many clever red herrings that the obvious didn't become obvious until revealed at the end.

Thanks, Vicki, I'm really looking forward to your next book, Sleight Malice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling Til the End May 26, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
I was captivated by this book as soon as I read the title. As a mystery buff, I did something that I never do and that was NOT skip to the end to see whodidit! Being a myster writer as well, my guesswork is pretty accurate. However, Vicki weaves such an incredible story that I was not only entertained, but blown away by the twist ending. Praises to this new author and I look forward to reading more from her. Thin Blood

5.0 out of 5 stars Edge of the seat all the way through May 2, 2010
By Sly
Format:Kindle Edition
Grabs you from page one. I enjoy a good mystery, and this is outstanding. As baffled and curious as the protagonist, Jacinta Deller, I imagined all sorts of possible explanations for what happened. But I never guessed quite where it would finish up. The ending is every bit as shocking as the start. Edge of the seat all the way through, with characters I cared about. This is crime writing at its best.

How long is Thin Blood?
Hi Jason: The book is approx 75,000 words, which equates to about 420 manuscript pages. How many "book" pages that translates to, I'm not sure. Part of the small file size might be that there are no graphics. Thanks for your interest.
