I love the hint of a science fiction/horror theme in this CD, which is right up Trans AM's alley. Could easily be a sound track to a movie about a giant human devouring arachnid robot on a distant planet. Honestly, I have forgotten about this band since about 2000, but have gone back and fell in love with their live album, Sex Change, Thing, You Can Always Get What You Want, and even Liberation. It seems as if their musicianship has advanced, but Thing manages to be almost predictable. I have to agree with the previous reviewer's statement, "Nothing new here." But this album is still definitely worth owning.

I've been following these guys since the beginning and have also enjoyed them live. They've apparently run out of ideas. Nothing new here, I'm sorry to say.
If you're looking for something different in instrumental alternative/post-rock, check out Drums & Tuba. I would suggest starting with VINYL KILLER. |
