5.0 out of 5 stars Truly a WONDERFUL book about the Holy Spirit., April 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: 1,001 Things You Always Wanted to Know About the Holy Spirit (Paperback)
J. Stephen Lang has really put a lot a scholarship into this masterpiece. This is definitely a reference book for anyone the studies that Bible. It's quite easy to understand also. What makes this book the greatest out there is that it was written by a theologian, but wasn't written to or for a theologian. He wrote this book to be easily understood for the average Christian. Reading this book, you'll discover things about the Holy Spirit that you've never known before. 1,001 Things You Always Wanted to Know About the Holy Spirit is surely the best book written by J. Stephen Lang! It's evident that he put a lot of time and effort into this wonderfully crafted book. Once you're done with this book, I assure you, you'll want to rave about it to everyone you see. 2.0 out of 5 stars A Writer's Eclectic Notes, December 15, 2009
This review is from: 1,001 Things You Always Wanted to Know About the Holy Spirit (Paperback)
This isn't really a book. It's more like a collection of writer's notes thrown together with a title slapped on the front of it. E.g., 792. Madison on sects -- not a word about the Holy Spirit, but a closing comment about how religious liberty facilitates renewal movements. 83. Dress-down Sundays. Nothing about the Holy Spirit. Many posts mention Pentecostal churches, or pentecostalism, but nothing specific about the Holy Spirit per se. If you like a flea market, enjoy rummaging around to see what you can find, you may enjoy this book. But, if you are looking for something cohesive, this is not the book for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great reference book, July 5, 2003
By
Ferry Lee (Perth, WA , Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 1,001 Things You Always Wanted to Know About the Holy Spirit (Paperback)
The book has great information of large numbers of people in mostly Charismatic movement, who is who, what they do and some other information. A great book for referencing, although most of the information of the people are very short.
It is written in easy to understand plain English, good to have this book in your shelve.
