5.0 out of 5 stars All Things Except Blood- A Joyfully Recommended Title, July 30, 2008
This review is from: All Things Except Blood (The Pacts) (Kindle Edition)
In a world where vampires are the protectors of humans, Eyrin awaits the return of a specific blood donor. The village people rotate so that all donate in hopes of keeping their village safe from demons the vampires fight. Eyrin, a Childe of the master vampire, enjoys the company of Ian. As the years have gone by, their relationship has grown, until this year when things change for Eyrin.

Ian can't wait to see Eyrin again. The four times a year are precious to him. Except when he goes to her this time to offer blood, he finds her badly hurt and in need of blood. Ian cares very much for Eyrin, but he soon finds that his world has changed and Eyrin is pushing him away. How can Ian win her affections back?

Wow! All Things Except Blood is a refreshing, unique view on vampires. I loved the way Kallysten has set this world up with the vampires as human protectors. It's hard not to like Eyrin and Ian while they struggle with issues in order to come together in the end. Even though Eyrin has been badly injured, Ian still sees the woman he loves. My heart sighed with pleasure while reading All Things Except Blood and I found the end satisfying, but now I must search out more of Kallysten's works. The plot, the characters, and the easy flow of the narrative will definitely keep you hooked! All Things Except Blood is a recommended read you cannot miss!
