Anthony Bluett was born in Japan of Irish parents and spent much of his childhood in Germany and England before his family returned to Ireland. There he went to school and university before setting out again, this time for Catalonia.
After a decade in Barcelona he returned to Ireland where he published the best-seller "Things Irish" with Mercier Press, Cork. He followed this with a number of other Irish-themed books for the same publisher.
Itchy feet sent him to Italy about a decade ago, where he lives in the Alps near the Swiss border, with his wife and two children.
