If you've ever seen Angela Thomas speak, you know she has a sweet, southern, drawl that helps (well, this Northerner anyway!) to put the exclamation and proper emphasis in her stories! She is quick-witted and warm. I kind of feel like she is my good friend and that she would recognize me on the street if we ran into each other.

This is exactly how she comes across in her books. I first connected with Angela's work about 9 years ago when, as a stressed, tired, Mom of two I first read the pages of "Tender Mercy for a Mother's Soul". This woman's words helped comfort my soul! She understood what I was feeling. She knew what I needed to hear. I WAS NOT ALONE, after all! Praise the Lord! Well, "52 Things Kids Need From A Mom ..." reminds me of 'Tender Mercy ...'. Angela doesn't impart words meant to guilt you in to living life and approaching Motherhood biblically. She doesn't 'shame on you' or 'should on you' with her stories and writings. She writes from an honest, down-to-earth perspective. Her message is simply: 'Jesus will meet you where you are & He can and will redeem anything. Move forward, don't look back!'

I love reading her books. They bring me to tears with her tender words and descrptions of her relationship with her children. We both have four children. Her youngest is slightly older than my oldest (if that makes sense!). I feel like she has paved the way and I can learn from her experiences. She is a blessing and I'm thankful she has listened to God's calling on her life. If you're a mother, I encourage you to have this book on hand. It's a read-a-chapter-any-chapter kind of book that you can keep in your car or right in your purse. You'll laugh, you'll be encouraged and this book will also make you think of new ways to show your kids just how much you love them! Pick up 'Tender Mercy' while you're at it! You won't regret either.

"52 Things Kids Need From A Mom" by Angela Thomas I really like having one of those easy to read books that I can throw in my purse to pull out during those times you find yourself waiting somewhere. This book is one of those kind of books with each chapter contained to one subject. Each chapter though is filled with very practical advice and insight into being a mother. I really enjoyed Angela's stories of being a mother in her own home. She has some great wisdom to share from being a mom to four children. The best thing about this book, Angela keeps God the focus of her advice. I would highly recommend this book to any mother to read and enjoy!
