Being not from Detroit in the 1960's,..the social issues covered in several locations in the book were not any of the reasons why I like the Tigers. The rest of the eighty-some-odd reasons were spot on.
It is a nice book and very well written, Mr. Foster is a very talented writer and in possession of a wonderful sense of humor.

There are a lot of good chapters in the book, but there are no chapters on the 1968 or 1984 seasons or World Series, just notes on each scattered throughout the book. As those were two of the highlight seasons in Tigers history, the book sure feels empty to leave both seasons and series out.

Very interesting book and presented in a way that makes the reader want to keep reading. I bought one for my dad for Christmas and also received one for Christmas. Makes a great gift for any Tiger fan!

The contains some unique stories, but for the most part is fairly common knowledge for any longtime Tiger fan. It also is a bit cheesy

This is a great book for new Tigers fans. There are a lot of great stories in here. For me having read a lot on the Tigers in the past there were a lot of things in here I already knew but there was still some new stuff. Overall a must have for any Tigers fan.

For Tigers devotees, a good collection of anecdotes from the century-plus of Detroit Tigers history, much of it well known to followers of the ups-and-downs of the Motor City's baseball fortunes. Nice to have a lot of the stories in one place.

I did not read this myself, but the gift recipient did love it. I am quite curious to read it myself actually!
