"something more",
This review is from: Things We Carry (Audio CD)
Have Heart is simply amazing, and with an amazing band comes an amazing album. The Things We Carry is amazing. The lyrics are positive and uplifting, and make the music something that goes far beyond "average" music. The vibe the music gives you from Have Heart makes you feel uplifted and just straight up great. You can tell that Have Heart have a hudge passion for what they do and what they stand for, which you have to look hard to find these days in hardcore.
The music is brilliantly recorded, it's not sketchy and poor. The sound quality on this album is great, every insturment has a great touch to it and come together perfect. For anyone that is into hardcore or just uplifiting music, this album is definitly for you. If you want to feel great about life, you should get this album. If you're a fan of Modern Life is War, Champion, and Signs of Hope I would definitly recomend this album. It will blow you away. Have Heart is one of the most important bands in hardcore today, and everyone (a hardcore fan or not) should experience their music.

One Of The Best Hardcore Bands,
By Diddy Kong (Newport Beach, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Things We Carry (Audio CD)
Let me just start off by saying that I listen to alot of hardcore bands, old and new. Bands like Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Government Warning, Negative Fx, Sick Of It All, Down To Nothing, Verse, etc...I'll just say that Have Heart's "The Things We Carry" is hands down in my top 5 favorite hardcore CD's, if not my favorite.
It's under 30 minutes of fast paced hardcore. No stopping, no bs, no fillers. It's filled with plenty of fast paced songs. The longest track on this album comes in at 3 minutes and 29 seconds. Have Heart perfectly incorporates melody into their music, but it never makes you think of even putting them in the melodic-hardcore category with bands such as Ambitions, Set Your Goals, and Signs of Hope. The arrangements keep you wanting to hear more and keep you guessing as to what you're going to hear next. They don't have your typical riffs and include some unusual guitar picking, odd tempos, and bass interludes. The vocals have a moderate range and consist of mostly throat-tearing screams, some spoken passages, and some shouting. However, most of the music today that might sound appealing doesn't have meaningful song-writing like Have Heart. Yes if you didn't know they are a posi band, but that shouldn't deter you because this CD teaches us to be better people in a world of crap. It teaches us to not be: selfish, superficial, fake, and lazy. And teaches us to be: hard-working, caring, and strong. With that being said, I highly recommend that if you're reading my review and thinking about picking up the CD to absolutely do so. This band has taken hardcore to the next level. Don't miss out on the chance to see these guys live as they put on an amazing show.

Great Straight Edge Band, Good Album!,
By Danny Denim (RockTown VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Things We Carry (Audio CD)
these guys are real good, some of my friends bands went on tour with them this summer, and all I can say is that 'things we carry' and their album 'what counts' are rock solid, great music all around, all of the tracks are great, some just stand out more than others, like 'The Machinist, Something more Than Ink, Old Man II', all carry that Hardcore Charm.
Good Music Fellas, keep up the good work!
