Editorial Reviews

Review

As both a psychotherapist and a woman from the 'sixties set' who just returned to the dating scene I was amazed at how 'on target' this book is!! Not only were the messages those that I would deliver as a therapist, but reading them helped guide me through this new venture in my own life...a truly helpful read! --Mimi Scott, PhD, LCSW Author, Split: Tales of Children of Divorce

This is NOT another ""quick fix"" to dating but a foundation of how dating paradigms shift with age. Rosalind & Amy deliver a step-by-step guide that is easy to follow and can be implemented instantly! What I admire most is their ability to portray the advantages that age & experience can bring to the table! Dating at 20 was 'crazy', dating as boomers becomes dating 'smart'. Rosalind & Amy show you that creating long term, lasting relationships at this age with an emotionally available and stable partner is not only in your cards but attainable step-by-step! --Ben Winkler, Relationship Coach for Singles, www.BenWinkler.com

An amazing accomplishment in touching upon so many essential components regarding ""Women and Dating"" so concisely. If you are in therapy, use this book as a checklist. It can open the door to a lot of valuable work. If not in therapy, use it as your own pre-dating checklist in the same way a pilot would use a pre-flight check before take off. Do not leave the ground without it. --C. Paul Wanio, Ph.D., LMFT, LMHC, and author of, I Love You I Think: When Sex Disguises Itself As Love

5.0 out of 5 stars Its about time a professional woman wrote a practical how-to date book for baby-boomers., December 23, 2011

This review is from: 99 Things Women Wish They Knew Before Dating After 40, 50, & Yes, 60! (99 Series) (Kindle Edition)
This is the first time I have taken the time to write a book review. I hope it will be useful as you decide whether or not to purchase this great book.

As a 62 year old attractive, intelligent and self examined woman, I will begin dating again in the near future. I appreciate the writers directness, detailed explanations and illustrative, yet brief, stories. This book is so well written and engaging that I finished it in 2 1/2 hours. In my opinion, it clearly addresses all the sensitive, pertinent issues of dating at almost any age especially as a mature woman. I highlighted many salient points that I will reference as needed in the future. I will also recommend it as a source to my therapist and other people I feel might benefit from your message.

Just a little about myself; I'm a native New York presently living in PA. At an earlier time in my life, I had a career in middle management. However, my love has always been psychology and at last I'm going to enter that field. In May I will become a CASAC (Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor). If I didn't have a terrific and skilled therapist locally, I would certainly call the author for life coaching.

Thank you so much for taking the time to focus such an important subject to "us baby boomers". Actually, in my opinion, your book would be excellent for women of all ages who are dating or in relationships.

Hope our paths will cross someday.

Teri

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy gift for my sister!, May 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this book for my divorced sister, a 47 year old professional. A single mom with teenagers who married her high school sweetheart at age 19, she never had the opportunity to date as a kid. She devoured this book, cover to cover in 2 days, then reread the book again over the next week. She realized that she needed the motivation to move on with her life and wanted to feel good about herself again. She told me that this book inspired her to begin a new, exciting chapter in her life. She had her first date last weekend, celebrating her birthday at dinner with a man who had worked with her on and off over the years. Was she thrilled with the experience? YES! Will she continue to make strides in her life based on this book? YES! Thanks to Rosalind and Amy for giving my sister the information she needed to brighten her life and redirect her to happier days!
