All future brides should read this book. It covers everything, and I mean everything you need to know and discuss before walking down the aisle. If all brides read this book and discussed the contents with their fiance before marriage...there would be fewer divorces.

If you are already married, use some of the topics as conversation starters to work out some of the issues you are facing. This book tackles topics from low self esteem, money, sex, to common values and religion.

I highly recommend this book for anyone considering a trip down the aisle or currently married.

I'm not even sure where to start. This book is very well written and extremely informative. It will be a MUST READ for my sons and that's why I say it's not just what women should know. The information in this book is universal.

I must say it definitely helped me understand what went wrong with my first marriage and confirms I am on the right track with my second one. One point I have already told my boys and Dr. Weiss points out is if your intuition is telling you (especially strongly) NOT to get married, even if it is the SAME DAY, LISTEN to your intuition! You shouldn't feel pressured to get married.

There are SO MANY extremely helpful points in this book and I'll just mention a couple that stuck out for me. If you are talking badly about your spouse (or significant other) behind his/her back, there's definitely a problem. Pay attention to how your husband (I'll use husband in this case) treats his mom--it will definitely be an indicator of how he will treat you. That is SO TRUE and so profound...ladies, PAY ATTENTION, it makes a big difference!! GREAT insight on Dr. Weiss' part!

I also like how Dr. Weiss points out that arguments can become problem-solving sessions. My middle son always thought my husband and I were fighting when we'd argue in front of him. To us, it was and still is a lively discussion--getting our points across but more in line with debating. I did advise him that it is when we are NOT talking (silence), that we are truly upset with each other (not a healthy mode at all).

In any case, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book--even if you are already married. This has such wonderful insights that will help you and has tons of resources included for any stumbling blocks you may incur in the future or for something you are experiencing right now.
