Book Description

"Things You Might See" achieved a #1 Best Seller sales ranking on amazon the month it was released.

Every child will enjoy "Things You Might See" whether they're learning to read or aren't quite there yet. Using simple, brightly-colored drawings and often funny rhymes, you'll read the text accompanying the drawings and point out the last word in each rhyme at the same moment your child guesses the rhyme, making the book a fun, interactive experience for both of you. Some of the things you and your child will see are a cake made out of rainbows, a mitten on a nose, a boy in a hole, a frog in a bowl, a skunk that's very smelly and a button on a belly.

With lots of colorful pictures and fun rhymes, your child will enjoy the time they spend with you each time you share the book together and take some of his or her early important steps toward learning to read.

The follow-up to this book, "More Things You Might See," also achieved a #1 Best Seller sales ranking as well as a #1 "Hot New Release" in its children's book category the month it was released.

3.0 out of 5 stars Guess the Rhyming Word March 27, 2013
By 4Nbahu
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In this book targeted to preschoolers, the author on the first page gives a line, the next page the reader is supposed to pause before the last word on the page and allow the child to guess the rhyming word.

Every page is illustrated. They are a bit small and a bit simplistic for my liking, but are age appropriate. The cover is one of the illustrations, however on the inside page the illustration is less than 1/4 of a page. In addition if you were to "fold" each page in half horizonatally, then each page, words and illustration, covers the half above the fold only.

While I might wish that the illustrations be a bit brighter, I believe this would be excellent to read to a preschooler. The rhyme and the rhythm flow well and if the reader follows the author's suggestion, the child would get to guess a word frequently.

The only real problem I had was the same as one of the other reviewers. The last rhyme doesn't really work. I understand what she is trying to do, but for me it doesn't work.

Even with the minor issues, I recommend this book.
