This is an awesome game. I am a speech thearpist and I love to have things like this in my proverbial "back pocket" for days that could otherwise be seen as throw aways...ex: assembly days, minimum days, testing days...when my therapy schedule gets blown to pieces and I am scrambling to adjust my lesson to still do something educational, but fun, but wont put any students missing the session behind the others. This is a great warm up game too because it can be played so fast! Love it! Here is a more detailed review with pictures from my blog: [...]

My family enjoys playing this game by ThinkFun. The kids find the pictures to be really funny and entertaining. There are lots of things to notice in them.

I started using this game cooperatively working with my kids (ages 7 and 5) to "get rid of all our cards". The kids were pretty good at finding something in a card that started with the last letter of the last word said. It was easiest for them to come up with an object or a color. I was able to model some different kids of words they could use, like feelings, parts of the body, shapes, and actions.

When we played together as a family I made sure my younger child knew what letter he was looking for since he's still learning to read and spell. Some of them were hard and even my husband and I got stuck! I think it's a game that will last a long time since new words are constantly being added to my kids' vocabularies, and I'm also looking forward to using it when the grownups in my family get together.

This is a great game and my highly verbal kids especially LOVE it. This is my 9 yo son's favorite game lately. I like it because it's a quick game that can be played repeatedly as the time allows. It only contains a deck of large, sturdy cards but this is nice because it makes clean up super easy. The best thing about the game is the way in which it engages your mind and keeps you thinking throughout the entire game time. This would be a great game to play at a family dinner.Highly recommend!

Last Letter is fun for all ages...we travel with this game as there are no small pieces to lose. Anyone can play. We've played with people ages 8 to 85 and they all had fun. My kids love this game and it's another quality ThinkFun game!

Last Letter is a new twist on an old game I remember playing as a child: One person calls out a word in a certain category. Then the next player calls out another word in the same category that starts with the last letter of the previous player's word. In this version, the words must be based things that can be found in a set of 61 silly, whimsically illustrated playing cards. First player to use up his or her hand is the winner.

What we loved about this game: 1) Any kid with a decent vocabulary and spelling skills will have little trouble competing with adults. 2) Every player participates the whole time. No waiting for someone else to take a turn. 3) The card illustrations are so surprising and detailed that there's always something new to find. 4) It moves fast. A typical game takes less than five minutes. Great for bedtime, and you won't mind playing just one more round.

Disclosure: ThinkFun gave me a free copy of this game in exchange for an honest review. I think very highly of all ThinkFun products, and this is no exception.

We received a copy of Last Letter from Thinkfun for review. Our children love playing games.

We started out with Last Letter, dealing 5 cards to each player. At first, Mom ruled the game. My 8 and 15 yr old were having a difficult time finding something that began with the last letter of the last word spoken. Once they got the hang of it, the gmae became silly and very competitive.

My teen had a few friends over, and we were all playing together. We changed up the game and made it a little more difficult by making rules of "nouns only" or "verbs only". We even tried "actions by living things" and "emotions only". After about 20 rounds, I was going to take a break. The teens begged to keep going.

We had a great time, raced, laughed, and enjoyed this game.

It takes about 2 minutes to learn and 5 minutes to play. I am looking forward to using it to reinforce parts of speech during school this year. It has endless applications.

"Last Letter is an up-beat fun and fast game that is perfect for plane rides or car rides if you have a flat surface!" 9 year old daughter

From Mom: "Last Letter" is a visual twist to an old game we used to play in the car when I was growing up. In the old fashioned version, one person named a country (or animal, state, etc.) and the next person had to come up with a different country that started with the same letter that the previous one ended with. The game kept going until no one could think of another country that wasn't a repeat. "Last Letter" really takes the game to a new level because you can use any vocabulary word that relates to the picture on the card. What makes it fast paced and keeps it fun is the added concept of getting rid of all your cards first. I especially like the different rules that you can apply to make it more challenging for some and that enables us to play it as a family with kids ranging from 13 years old to 9 years old.
