I like that the game is compact and everything fits inside to prevent the pieces from getting lost.

This is an excellent game for kids to work on counting, logic, and just looking for some good 'ole fashion fun.
Alyssa G.
The easy level was super easy to fly through, but when I got to the hard level, even I was challenged.

Disclosure: I was given the opportunity to receive a complimentary Hoppers game in exchange for an honest review on my blog.
We had a wonderful time testing this game out. I remember, as a child, every time we would go to certain restaurants they would have the peg solitaire game. I think it was baseball themed or something. I would play that while we would wait for our food to be ready, and I always wanted one of my own. I love these games because they require you to think while you play. The object of the game is to "hop" over frogs, one-by-one using the lines on the board as a guide (obviously you cannot jump in weird patterns, only forward, backward or side to side). You are finished when you have run out of adjacent frogs to hop over, or you are left with one frog on the board. You only have WON if you leave one frog on the board.

What I love about this particular version of the peg solitaire game is that it comes with a deck of 40 cards, which give you different challenges to hop your way through. This makes it more interesting, and fun for the kids. Clearing the entire board is a difficult task, but when you start with the easy cards and work your way up to the super hard ones, you test your thinking (and sometimes your patience). It helps when you are teaching someone to play too!

As a mother who is sick of cleaning up toys, I also appreciate that everything that comes with this game fits into the hidden drawer underneath it. The bottom slips open to store the deck of cards and the little frogs. This makes it so easy for the kids that they never complain about doing it, and it is done and put away with almost zero effort on anyone's part. I highly recommend this version of peg solitaire, and also encourage you to delve into some of the other products created by ThinkFun. We own a few other ThinkFun games and are always pleased with the quality and educational components they provide.

Here is a nice game that is perfect for one player. It is great for kids and adults as well thanks to the different levels of challenge for the game. With the convenient storage compartment, this game is ideal for travel. If you have multiple kids, a couple of copies of this will keep them occupied during long trips. This game teaches spatial recognition skills, so you can imagine the board in your head after multiple moves. Also, there is logic that is developed through the progression of jump moves.

The component quality is very good with sturdy plastic pieces, nice detail on the hopper frogs and nice quality for the card stock with nice rounded corners. I like that the game is compact and everything fits inside to prevent the pieces from getting lost.

The detail is nice on the frogs and the sculpts and paint detail give them a more realistic look. The lily pads on the grid are adequate in detail and the pegs that stick up are sturdy. On the bottom of the storage drawer there is a hole that allows for pushing the challenge cards out easily. It is a nice feature and I like that it is slightly recessed to protect the cards that are inside just in case there happens to be a spill while on the table.

The only negative thing I see with this is after multiple plays, for older players, the puzzle solutions will be known and then there won't be so much of a challenge. For younger players though, with 40 different challenges, they will be engaged in the game for a while.

Overall this is a good product that offers fun and brain exercise at the same time. Home-schoolers would find this as a useful tool for problem solving and educators can use this as a great activity for a rainy day.

As a family we are always on the go. Especially during the summer. We have been home one weekend since the middle of June. Other than that we have been going going going. Throw in sports and trips during the week and that's a lot of down time for the kids. So I like to make sure I have lots for them to be doing.
If we are going to be outside waiting we have balls to toss, chalk to write on the sidewalks as well as books, Crayons, and thinks for the kids to draw in. If we are in the car I bring movies, headphones, Kindles and little magnet games that the kids can hang onto in their laps and play. But now I have a new game to add into the mix. Hoppers. It's gone with us from the house, to the car, on a plane out of state and to football practice in the month that we have had it. And it's still a hit with both my 5 year old and 8 year old!

As soon as I received it in the mail the kids tore into it and were trying to figure it out. It didn't take long since it's so simple. Hoppers is a solitaire game that you literally hop one of the cute little froggies over another until there are no more on the board. My 5 year old compares it to Checkers. And we love Checkers in this house! So Hoppers was an instant hit! The game is only about a 3-4" square and it seals up so nicely I can drop it my purse for the kids, or me, to play on in my downtime. Because as a mom I just have so much of that ;)
