Even Stubborn Non-Drawers Will Love This Game!,
By
This review is from: Oodles Of Doodles (Toy)
I must admit that I am a game adict and it is difficult to find games that everyone will agree to play. There are many drawing games that many will refuse to play because they think they "can't draw". A game that is super fun to play is "Who, What, Where", but since it is 5 minutes of actual drawing a picture, most people refuse to play. This is not a problem with this game, since it is doodling and fast paced, people will agree to doodle out their best interpretation of an object.
In Oodles of Doodles, you select a card that has a subject matter on it. Now, there can be up to eight objects on the back of the card (sometimes less) and each drawing item fits into the clue on the front of the card. So, we are already starting off with an understanding of where the drawer is going. Then there is a whiteboard with 8 boxes for drawing 1 item in each box. For example, the card might say: "Items found in a classroom". You turn over the 90 second timer, and start drawing item #1: desk (in box #1), #2: pencil (in box #2), #3: teacher(in box #3), #4: crayons (in box #4), etc. There are varying levels of difficulty, the hardest one I had was types of Parties, and has to draw a retirement party, however, since you only have 90 seconds to draw all 8 pictures, you'll never be stuck on the same drawing for too long, you just keep the pace going, and laugh, laugh, laugh!! Final Verdict: Definately recommended to anyone and everyone. Is sure to be a blast at the next get together.

I ordered this toy as a Xmas gift for my 7-year-old daughter, and the entire family loves it. Two nights after Christmas, all four of us were up until 11:30pm playing. Some of the cards will be too difficult for the younger kids to draw, but we just skip them until an appropriate card comes up. It's amazing how creative the kids are in getting their ideas across; I think it's a great way to get their creative minds going and to keep up their interest in art, when it is becoming less of a focus at school.

I draw like a first grader (or worse) so I hated Pictionary or anything like it. Players have a category, say "breakfast items," and the person doodling has to draw the items in the category: scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, juice. Because her team is clued in to the category, the doodle hardly has to resemble the item at all; in fact, the worse the drawing, the more fun to be had. It is amazing how team members can make correct guesses. We didn't even keep score, we just took turns drawing and guessing. Is a good icebreaker for groups too. Do be sure to clean the drawing board carefully, though, as the marker can stain the surface otherwise.

Fun game!!! Makes you think. A little challenging for younger kids, but if they team up with an older person, it is a blast.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my neices and nephew, 11, 9 and 6. They loved the idea of the game, but a lot of the cards contained items to draw that they didn't have any idea what the items were. I do know that the age recommendation is 10 and up, so it is to be expected that the younger ones will have some difficulty. Additionally, trying to draw all 8 pictures within the time limit was difficult, even for some of the adults. We took turns just drawing the pictures and having everybody guess rather than doing the competition. But all the kids loved the drawing. Would definitely recommend.

One of the best games ever!,

This game is definitely one of my favorite games of all time. My roommate just bought it tonight and we wound up playing it for hours... it's the type of game that you don't easily get sick of. It doesn't require a great deal of skill and is even more fun if people are "creatively challenged" as it requires more skill to guess what the pictures are supposed to be. It's similar to Pictionary, but it differs in that each person is supposed to draw up to 8 related pictures in a certain amount of time. For example, each picture might be related to theme of "careers" or "dark places". This requires the artists to draw very quickly, often sacrificing accuracy for speed, making the game even more fun and less reliant on real drawing skills.

The first time my friends and I opened this game, we ended up playing for four hours straight. They've asked to play it frequently since then. Easily the most fun game I've purchased in years. Because your team knows the subject you're drawing, it's easier to guess each of the doodles than it would be trying to guess out of the blue, and some of the resulting drawings are side-splittingly funny. If you feel like more of a challenge, you can even keep the subject a secret and have the team try to guess it for extra points after you've finished drawing all the objects. Buy this game--you won't regret it!

this game is kindof like pitionary. You are on a team and the other team tries to geuss the topic you are drawing about. Even if you are not a very good drawer this game is still lots of fun.
