Those were Wally Amos's words. And this book is an excellent source to help you to get there.

3.0 out of 5 stars great stories
When someone overcome obstacles that is always a great to read. Many self help books have that and some stories are better than others. Dennis Kimbro has managed to find some inspirational stories. However, it has that new age feel in some parts of the book. Metaphysics is theory and many books speak of it as fact. Speculation cannot make you a better person. If you want...

Those were Wally Amos's words. And this book is an excellent source to help you to get there.

While I have read the original book, "Think and Grow Rich, by Napolean Hill,12 times, I believe that this is an excellent book to read, in addition to the original, for all races, and in particular African-Americans.

Writing a book that targets the black audience, as this book does may lead readers to ask, "Why 'we' or 'they' need something different, or special?

This is analogous to asking, "Why do they need a Black networking group?"

And my answer, as is the essense of Dr. Kimbro's answer, is that someone who is not African-American does not have the same challenges as an African-American has; therefore, identifying the resources, problems and possibilities, via a book, and networking that targets African-American, is an excellent way to answer the questions that Napoleon Hill couldn't answer on a level that Kimbro could answer - combining direct experiences, and research makes for an excellent source to the secrets of success.

5.0 out of 5 stars the ultimate checkup from the neck up!, May 10, 2003

Think and grow rich a black choice is excellent in preparing african americans for success. It doesn't take the reader all the way you will still have to add other books to your library like BLUEPRINT FOR BLACK POWER BY AMOS WILSON and BLACK LABOR WHITE WEALTH to kind of balance out your personality. Let's face it you need to strongly desire your goal like a starving man desires food but desire alone does not guarantee success. You also need to know how to anticipate problems before they come up. You should have at least 3 back up plans. Dont give up on your ultimate goals but just be prepared to take the detour road if you have to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Effective book if you are serious about success!, November 22, 2006
By
I am about to purchase a new copy of this book that I first read 2 years ago. Loaned it to a friend and it must have been so inspirational I never got it back! Dennis Kimbro is a prolific writer who has inspired me to greatness! I am 34 years old and I am about to embark on a new career path that I have never thought possible before! For the past thirteen years of my life I have worked in a job that was less than fulfilling just because it was a respected profession. Now, after reading this book I am encouraged not only to think big, but to take BIG actions as well. The reading style in this book is easy and chapter by chapter it encourages you to chase after greatness.Whatever your definition of that is. Too many of us are afraid to seek after wealth because of our religious backgrounds. This book has shown me that if you are financially comfortable you can be an even bigger blessing to your family and your community. Does it teach you that wealth is the path to happiness? The answer is an astounding no! But it does teach you how several African Americans have reached for the sky, created wealth, changed their lives and by extension have contributed enormously to the black community and society as a whole. If you want further inspiration to change your life and make your dreams come true........READ THIS BOOK!

5.0 out of 5 stars Think and Grow Rich A Black Choice by Denis Kimbro and Napoleon Hill, August 5, 2005
This is a powerful book about the principles and philosophy of success. This is very much applicable to all people from all walks of life worldwide. However, the authors were largely focusing on the black audience. I found the book to be well written, stimulating and uplifting. Numerous examples of successful black people are used to show what it takes to be successful. I could clearly see that my fate is in my hands. The "Acres of Diamonds" are all around me. It is only left to me to open my eyes and see them. For example, I had always wanted to write o book on African airlines but never got started on the project. However, after reading this inspiring book, I immediately embarked on my book writing project and I am now proud that the book of my dreams on African airlines entitled "African Airlines in the Era of Liberalisation" is now complete and on the market.

When I read the book, I got the impression that the book was written for me. The same should be for anyone else. You can be the person you have always wanted to be. The book provides practical insights and gives instructions on how you can make a success of your self, depending on what you really like out of life. This book is a must to read by all people and black people in particular, especially on the African continent.

I think the Bible is the greatest book ever written. After that this one is a must read. Everything required to have a successful life is in this book. It should be required before leaving college. Many things that are taught in colleges will not equipt one for life as much as this little (power packed) paperback book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Book, April 14, 2007
I have not purchased the original think and grow rich yet..but this book is excellent and inspiring. Everyone can read this book. The book is written from the black perspective in that the author uses famous/rich black people as examples thought out the book. I especially love the inspirational quotes. The main theme is reinforced constantly you are what you think. Think your poor and never can get better. then you'll stay poor. Poor but you know that you can do better... then you'll succeed. The author emphasizes that in this land of opportunity (USA) that anyone can succeed. You may experience bumps achieving your dream but perseverance and positive thinking goes along way. A must read for all african-americans.

This review is from: Think and Grow Rich: A Black Choice (Paperback)
If you want to succeed with business, life and relationships and wealth, you need this book. You must not only read and reread it but put the ideas into action.

Dennis Kimbro has done wonders to Napoleon Hill's last manuscript. In this book you will see the princples that Hill founded used by the likes Of Spike Lee, Goeroge Washington Carver, Wally "Famous" Amos and My favorte Oprah Winfrey.

This is not to say you will ever be as famous as these people but you still can have Wealth, fun, happiness and Love when you practice these secrets of the mind.

Buy the book Now! Do it Now! Do It Now! That is one of the many lessons from the book: Do It Now: Purchase the book.

Then email me Joetrevis@aol.com and tell me how it changed your life like it did for me.
