Most business books are rather dry. Think Like A Stripper is quite the opposite. Despite the cheeky title, this is a serious business/inspirational book with an unconventional twist. Author Erika Lyremark did indeed once work as a stripper but rather than look at that profession as something to push into the closet, she pulls it out into the light of day and shares the business hustling lessons she learned from that time in her life.

Think Like A Stripper is a whip smart (yet oftentimes funny) book tailored to the female entrepreneur who wants straight up business advice delivered with an edge. Lyremark delivers the goods in a no holds barred manner. If you like your business advice served straight up with a dash of humor on the side, then this is the one you've been waiting for.

Each lesson is delivered in two parts: a "stripper tip", then the "strip down". In the tip part, Lyremark shares one of her stripper stories - in the strip down, she elaborates on the lesson from the story. The stories are often very humorous. I laughed out loud at Stripper Tip #29 - Define Stupid, where the author describes "dancing with a teddy bear" for a client. The image had me cracking up but the lesson about being afraid to look foolish - brilliant. The fear of looking stupid has caused me to turn down ideas and offers, which was not good business. Anytime I find myself thinking that thought in the future, all I need to do is remember that teddy bear story and I'm ready to chuck my insecurities (and laugh my head off in the process).

The advice is rock solid - if you're ready for the main stage but feeling stage fright, Lyremark may just be the person to help you shed your business inhibitions and knock it out of the ball park.

(Note: some might find the stripping references to be offensive - if you can't look past that to see the gems within, then this is not the book for you.)

I knew I was going to love the book Think Like a Stripper: Business Lessons to Up Your Confidence, Attract More Clients & Rule Your Market when I read the dedication:
"If instead of fulfilling your business potential and happy- dancing in your stilettos, you're crying in the bathroom and wrecking your mascara, then this book is dedicated to you."

This is a must-read for any female entrepreneur who feels like she is working so hard but not getting the results she desires or just doesn't have the confidence she needs. Erika dishes her extremely practical and proven 68 business tips in the context of the stories of her days as a stripper. She shares each with a story (Stripper Tip) followed by a lesson/wisdom and how you can implement it into your business (The Strip Down).

The book is highly engaging, funny, and really honest. There is no fluff here. Read it straight through in one sitting to get the feel of it and then keep it with you as you continue to develop your business and yourself. Who knew it would be my newest "reference" book?

Erika demonstrates that business can be fun. If you want to be entertained AND have practicable action steps to take you and your business to the next level, then this book is for you.

And here's the extra bonus: this sound advice is not just applicable to your business, but to all aspects of your life! I'll "Always Have a Red Carpet Dream"(Stripper Tip #1) and "Ask for the Dance" (Stripper Tip #15).

Think Like a Stripper is a must read for any female entrepreneur! In her Stripper Tips, Erika uses stories from her days as a stripper - told with bold, straightforward sass - to illustrate the basics of bringing a business to life or to the next level, and follows up with Strip Downs that guide you to incorporate the Tips into your own business and life.

I recommend reading the book with a notepad to jot down Tips that hit home. Erika's writing is so witty and smart, you may find yourself speeding by her brilliant advice in your haste to get to the next juicy story (at least on your first read-through), so the notes will come in handy for the second go-round!

I especially love the questions she presents in some of the Strip-Downs, which may seem simple, but are truly thought-provoking and challenging when you start to dig deeper. I now treat the Stripper Tips as daily inspiration - I like to pick a number, open to the page, and see what new wisdom I can gain.

I LOVE this book!

I'm a busy mom entrepreneur in the middle of finals for grad school and I've already read this book twice! It's funny, witty and full of actionable tips you can apply right away. The book is broken down into bite-sized "Stripper Tips" that include a story from Erika's life (some of these are hilarious!), the takeaway wisdom Erika got from the experience and practical tips on how you can apply it to your business building efforts.

My new favorite thing to do when I'm feeling stuck in my business, is to pick a number between 1-68, then read the Stripper Tip it relates to and do whatever Erika tells me to! It's been working great and I'm having more fun in my business because of it.

Get this book if you want to have more fun in your business and make more money. As Erika proves in this book, the two are definitely related!
