Catch a Fire,
This review is from: Think Logically, Live Intuitively: Seeking the Balance (Paperback)
Since Robert Monroe wrote "Journeys Out of the Body", the first and still greatest classic book on the out-of-body-experience (OBE), there's been a flood of me-too literature, some deriving directly from the Monroe Institute programs and researches and some just vaguely inspired by it. But the only book I consider the true successor to Monroe's epochal work is this one. It has that same shocking personal immediacy yet absolute credibility in detailing outlandish spiritual and energetic experiences, then goes further to view them in a far broader analytical context than anything Monroe could attempt (of course it's partly due to Monroe that we now have this richer field for discussion and reference).
TLLI consists of the diamonds of Madaus' fascinating personal work both at The Monroe Institute and elsewhere, with each gem fixed in a setting of gold - his linkups of whatever happens to him to scientific research and consultation with experts in medicine, psychology, and physics. But the fuse that blasts this work into an orbit way beyond run-of-the-mill OBE books is Madaus' unique ability to convey the intensity and immediacy of ultra-high energy spiritual states in totally accessible language. Reading this book, you totally "get" that the veil between the worlds is gossamer thin. No other book in this realm, no other book period, brings home that understanding with such fiery urgency.

Consciousness Unveiling,
By
This review is from: Think Logically, Live Intuitively: Seeking the Balance (Paperback)
What I feel is most important in this book is the authors willingness to show the creativity, complexity and potential of Human Consciousness.
Having read most of the books referenced in this work I find the references to be potent and timely in the text so as to assist others who may be having these experiences and to encourage us to be more open to our potential. It seems his experiences were, in part, a result of his willingness to be open. I have read many books of our modern mystics but I have never read such an account as what the author shares of his personal experiences. Absolutely Incredible!!

The real value of book is buried under quotes and fluff,
By Felix M (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Think Logically, Live Intuitively: Seeking the Balance (Paperback)
The value of this book is the author's experiences in altered states and healing. But unless you are brand new to new age types of books then the remainder is just fluff. Probably under pressure from the publisher, the author fills the book with large amounts of quotes from other people. I wouldn't be surprised if a good quarter of the book is made of quotes. The author even quotes *himself* at the end of every chapter.
Then, in typical new age fashion, the author adds in chapters of "what if..." and "the implications are astounding" and, of course, lots of use of the word "quantum". Unless all of this speculation on the what-if's is new to you, you will be bored to tears by much of the book. It would have been better, though not as profitable, for the author to publish a series of articles detailing his experience with the Monroe Institute and Hearth Math. His experiences are worth reading, but this book is not worth the price. Buy it used or wait till you can find it in a library. He has a lot of interested things to relate.

Release the need for predictability,
By
This review is from: Think Logically, Live Intuitively: Seeking the Balance (Paperback)
It's easy to write "We must explore the issue of how we perceive things versus how they might really be," and another thing entirely to personally do just that. This book is a cascade of experiences, with stops along the way for challenging his own thinking, of a very rational person exploring an intelligent world. The unseen becomes obvious; the unexplained becomes as tangible as touch. What may seem "nonordinary" has practical applications on the job. For those who have had moments of insight through their religious faith or various forms of spiritual awareness, this book illustrates how a successuve stream of these insights can challenge you with an "understanding of people and the interconnnected nature of everything." One of the writer's themes is that his way of perceiving tended to be habitual and that, through his "nonordinary" experience of the energy realm around him, he could change his habits, his approach to otherwise difficult situations in his workaday world. This book is for the spiritual explorer who wants to come back home with both feet on the ground. As the stories unfold, it's a result you might not predict.

I've been Unconcious,
By
This review is from: Think Logically, Live Intuitively: Seeking the Balance (Paperback)
There are opportunities all around us to learn, adapt, change, think differently, and expand our knowingness. It seems when one is ready to hear something that a concept, thought, or idea sinks deeply enough to make an impression that make a difference though the concept may have surrounded us throughout our life. When I read this book I realized that just because I don't understand it all, didn't experience it myself, and have more wonder than answers that I am ready to hear, to know, to learn, and to expand. Dr. Madaus does not insist that one believe, rather "suspend your disbelief." It has been an awakening for me.

Thought Provoking,
This review is from: Think Logically, Live Intuitively: Seeking the Balance (Paperback)
Kudos to Richard and other authors like him who share such personal experiences with the world. I am reading this book for the second time and have found it to be most useful in helping me understand experiences that I've had which have been similar to his; it has become like a reference book to me. Anyone who reads this book and may be exploring consciousness and the Universe will see from this book that the possibilites are endless as the Universe is just waiting for us to explore it. Clearly as the depth of the authors' experiences show, our only limitations would be the ones that we impose upon ourselves.

Fantastic!,
By Juli (Tennessee) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Think Logically, Live Intuitively: Seeking the Balance (Paperback)
This is a fantastic book! In "Think Logically, Live Intuitively", the author reflects on his journey to find answers pertaining to the "facts" that are presented in each of our lives. As a "seeker" myself, I appreciate his honesty and openness in exploring the "facts" and allowing the reader to decide for his/her self what is true for them.
I find myself returning to this book often as I research the "facts" for myself. I highly recommend this book!

Just what I needed....,
By
This review is from: Think Logically, Live Intuitively: Seeking the Balance (Paperback)
If you've ever asked yourself what the meaning of life is, or what your spiritual path should be, then this is the book for you. However, instead of answering either of those questions, J.R. will humbly and compassionately awaken your spirit through his awe inspiring experiences and provides you the tools to find your own way.

I started reading this book and the author is more like someone going on a drug trip in his approach to expereiencing the astral plane. There's so much more that you can do other than trip off of being there. Obviously this person is not spiritually conscious, and his geekiness comes out even in the coolest of circumstances. If you want to learn what to do when get on the astral plane I suggest reading Sanaya Roman's books. They are full of spiritual events that you can take part of on the astral plane. After reading this book the astral plane seemed boring, but thanks to other spiritually oriented readings I have found a new interest. I found this book to be dry, unexciting, plain, and boring. After reading into it abit I simply scaned the chapters and it was more of the same dribble. The approach to this book is more like the first time smoking weed. You do it out of curiousity, but if you don't like it you never do it again. Don't form your opinion of the astral plane based on this book. The author is limited because he is not a natural intuitive. If he were he wouldl be interested in so much more than sensations. I am going to sell my copy and I don't recommend this book to anyone unless they are looking for a new way to experience thier sensations. You'll see what I mean if you buy it anyway.

Think Logically, Live Intuitively,
By Antoinette Brockman "Antoinette Brockman" (Prince Albert, Sk. Canada) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Think Logically, Live Intuitively: Seeking the Balance (Paperback)
I was amazed at the clear and open way the author discribed how we are more than our physical body. This book shows how we use both right and left brain together in balance to give us the success and joy we desire. After reading this book you will want to read more on how we can engage our whole brain to work toward ultimate peace and oneness with our higher self.To think logically reminds us that we are still a physical being having a spiritual expereince: living intuitively reminds us that we have great potential and insight for change. This change process envelopes and cloaks us in unconditional love and peace when we use our balanced whole brain. We are either very right brain or very left brain in our daily lives:either very analytical thinkers and physical doers or very intuitive clairvoyants etc. Lets use both in balance. After all we live on earth : not in the sky and beyond. The trick is how to live here in peace and harmony.
