Perfect for Micro Four Thirds,
This review is from: Think Tank ~ Digital Holster 10 - Small SLRs (Electronics)
I use this case with a Panasonic GF1 with the kit zoom. It fits perfectly without having to expand the bottom even with the lens hood on. The construction is excellent and the overall quality appears to be pretty high. The hinged screen protector and removable rain cover are excellent features. The outside pocket holds an extra battery and a few cards. It also has a belt loop but i probably won't use that feature. This case is large enough that i can also fit the pancake lens in the case using the provided seperator. Since the case has a shoulder strap i purchased a large Canon wrist strap and use that for camera security while shooting rather then having another shoulder strap on the camera. Ths set up works great for me but i am sure others will have their own preferences.
This particular holster is stated to be a good fit for smaller DSLR's. My DSLR is a Nikon D5000 which this bag states it is specifically for. In practice it does fit but it is a bit more snug then i would like especially since with my DSLR i would be using a shoulder strap instead of a wrist strap. This typically gets piled on top of the camera and the screen protector. It fits but IMO i would get the Holster 10 for any micro four thrids camera and would go with the 20 for a small DSLR such as the Nikon D5000. I am definately going to purchase the 20 soon.

To novices like me, ThinkTank bags don't make a lot of sense at first glance. But as soon as you use one you realize how well thought out they are. I gave this item as a gift. But I took some time to inspect it before wrapping it. There is no wasted space. It fits the XSi it was intended for perfectly. I don't like using camera straps. They get in my way. This holster works just like any other holster. Easy access, protection, and portability. Most bags have so much wasted space they look like you are carrying a pillow around. I could sling this around my shoulder or attach it to a belt in no time. And the goal is to make you want to carry your camera with you whenever possible.
This holster will easily carry an XSi or equivalent with kit lens attached, a spare battery, and a memory card or two. Extend the bag and you can carry a longer lens or a low light prime using a divider. Very handy. |
