ok, so a little different than world circus, but still amazing. these guys just got back together and are going to finally get the recognition of a whole new generation of metalheads. THINK THIS is more progressive than WORLD CIRCUIS and the lead singer is different ........... but it still has the same Toxik thrash/prog. feel and Josh Christians amazing guitar work, and the new singer is very good and more dynamic than the previous .... good or bad thing ? you be the judge ...

If You Like Cookies, You'll Love Cookie Cri-,

Toxik's second album is an improvement over their impressive debut, World Circus. More progressive and more of a concept album than its predecessor, Think This has quite a lot of layers to it. I find the albums that can be enjoyed the most are the ones that seem the hardest to digest at first. Think This is like this, what can sound like a cacophony of sound will soon make sense upon repeated listens. The songs are very technical, yet quite catchy. Spontaneous, There Stood The Fence, Machine Dream and the title track are all examples of the marriage between catchy and technical. The drums pound, the guitars wail, as does the vocalist. The vocals are high, but not as high as they were on World Circus. Different lead singer, and a lower register flows excellently. Buy Think This, and THINK.

TOXIK!!!,

Love these Guys. More polished than World Circus. Alot of stop and go beats, still pretty quick though. Memorable songs. Some choruses can be vocally whiney sounding. Again high tone vocals, but more "normal" this time around. Different singer Charles Sabin. Josh Christian shreds the album. Wish he did a solo album. There Stood the Fence is a power ballad, Out on the Tiles is a Led Zep cover. The two odd-ball songs. Great CD. Progressive Metal.

Classic technical/progressive thrash,

Think This is the now-classic record from Toxik. These guys play a progressive, technical version of thrash with absolutelyl vicious fast-paced riffing and constantly evolving song structures. The most impressive element is their ability to combine their technical prowess with more traditional song writing techniques. In other words, this thing shreds and doesn't suffer in terms of writing great songs to boot. Check this out if you are into Death, Anthrax, Megadeth, and the like.

TOXIK : "Think This",

Where to start? Well, you'll have a very difficult time categorizing TOXIK, and their particular style of Metal. "Think This", TOXIK's second studio effort, is one of those extremely rare breeds of Thrash / Speed / Tech-Prog Metal that you just don't ever hear anymore. I can't really describe it, I'll just say that TOXIK has a completely unique way of delivering the goods, and your ears will not be disappointed. Roadrunner Records had all the coolest bands signed in the late 80's, and I would consider TOXIK a rare gem in the world of Thrash. Also, I would highly recommend their debut "World Circus". It's another 80's Thrash Metal masterpiece in my opinion. I only wish TOXIK had made it bigger...~MJ~

I actually bought a copy of this album and I've been a fan of Toxik for a long time and their work is awesome, thrash at it's finest!I wish their were some mp3's on this album so some of you could hear how awesome this album is:)One problem though, when I got mine(the remastered version) it didn't play on my stereo,it played on my PC but I experienced 'clipping' and it was annoying. However on a discman it sounds fine.Thoroughly test your copy for any defects.

Toxik is a group very rarely heard of with a heavy sound. They do a great copy of Led Zep's "out on the tiles".The album has a theme. Each song is like turning on a different T.V. station. You can hear the channels changing between each song. It's a good album for fans of heavy music.Toxik also has another album-World Circus

Not Sure What to Write...,

I'm a huge fan of good thrash metal, but Toxik seems to be in their own world. In short, they have their own sound, to be sure! While the music is close to traditional thrash, the vocals are not good! This CD is a lot slower than their first, but at least the vocals are better. Their first CD, World Circus, has great music, but very bad vocals. Just seems like they could have been so much better with even a half-decent vocalist. Still ok to listen to if you're in a tolerant mood.

"Programming designed to drain",

I picked this record up because of its cool, Cold War inspired cover and because I am a big fan of 1980s metal (this being released in 1989). Well, the cover art is the best thing about this album. I find the music to be excessively noisy, disjointed, and lead by a singer who seems to enjoy wailing at the top of his lungs just for the heck of it. I don't know how they played some of these songs, they just seem to go every which way. Lyrically, the songs are interesting and well-written. The sound of channel surfing separates some of the tracks to give the impression that a certain track is on a different "channel;" however, there is really one underlying theme to this album: that society is going to heck and a handbasket due to greed, bigotry, drugs, and violence. God is brought up in many of these tracks, but their position on God is as disjointed as the music. Sometimes, God is seen as an answer to society's sins: "We're all God's sons" ("Black and White") while other times, God is presented as false hope: "In God--our debt has been paid, still we are laid to rest" ("In God"). "There Stood the Fence" is a surprisingly decent ballad. The rest of the music is very heavy, sometimes close to speed metal ("Spontaneous"). Their cover of Led Zeppelin's "Out on the Tiles" is almost unlistenable; in fact, most of Think This is very hard to listen to. It is difficult to think of this that or anything while this is playing except, 'Man, I can't wait for this song to end.' I would describe it as "Noise Metal" if there is such a genre. I don't like "Noise Metal."
