5.0 out of 5 stars A Terrific Learning Toy
I went to a science workshop with my child's second grade class. They were studying balls and ramps. This toy was there for them to explore (among many hand made experiments). The children were drawn to it and then made their own versions. Very education and extremely fun! I bought it for all my nieces and nephews afterward! Everyone loves it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, but...
I found this item on a list of toys for kids with Autism. My son has Autism & I thought he might like this and purchased it for Christmas. I was disappointed in the performance of some of the pieces. There are two buckets and I'm guessing, because of their shape, that one bucket is supposed to tip one way & the other bucket tips the other way. One of our buckets...

5.0 out of 5 stars Every kid loves it!, December 1, 2006

I purchased Frigits for my boys 4 years ago, (ages 4 to 11 yrs at the time) and they still love it! Every child that comes over to the house is automatically drawn to it. When I moved it from the refrigerator to the utility room door, (all steel Stanley type door) neighbor kids immediately noticed it missing from the fridge. Happy smiles returned when they found they had a bigger working surface without the marbles under the fridge problems. I am purchasing a few sets this Holiday season to give to my dear friends with children. Many hours of entertainment for all ages.

I gave this to my grandson, age 7, and he loves it. He has so much fun setting up the pieces in different patterns. It's a great toy to show his creativity and problem solving. Only drawback is you need to use an appliance. We are looking into making some kind of a self standing unit, and then he will be able to use it anywhere.

I bought frigits for my 15 year old son because I thought he would get a kick out of it. What I didn't know was that everyone who enters the house would have to try it. My 80 year old dad, twenty something nieces and nephews, forty something friends, everyone who sees it has to send a marble down the ramps and then tweek the setup or create a new one. Buy this to make standing in front of the fridge more fun with the door closed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fridgets, November 5, 2006

I teach elementary school art and as a reward for students cleaning up on time and having good behavior I roll the marble. The Fridgets are set up on my magnetic white board. They are well and truly amazed. I've had a blast setting up the maze and watching students figure out how to set it up as well. I tell them to adjust the pitch alot and to remember Fridgets when they take Physics in High School. Presently, I own 3 sets and one launcher. I can't wait to see what the company will come up with next.

Birthday present. Durable and fun. Buy a magnetic dry erase board and an inexpensive basket and you will not lose the parts. On the refrigerator the marbles get eaten by the fridge. In my 8 year old son's room everything is right there and he and his friends played with it for nearly an hour. Deluxe version is worth the extra money and all you will need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hours of Imaginitive Fun!, November 13, 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

We've had Frigits for at least 6 years. They have stood the test of time through two children with a 5 year age difference.

There is an infinite selection of ways to set it up. It can be changed over and over, easily adjusted and rearranged. The magnets that hold it to your refrigerator or metal door are strong and the Frigits do not drop off easily.

There is a great sound quality to the Frigits as the marble goes through the parts. Some click, some spin, some rock the marble back and forth.

We added the Frigits Extension - Launcher which is a great way to start the run.

Not all marbles fit but the standard size works great. It does take some trial and error to get the marble to hit all things correctly but that is the best part. The learning process as you work your way down one stage at a time, adjusting and relaunching is whats makes this a great educational toy.

The only problem is with the marbles dropping all over the floor. Even with the catcher bin at the bottom, marbles inevitably drop in different places and if your floor is anything like mine, it is not level. The marbles always rolled under the refrigerator. We would periodically roll it out and collect 5-10 marbles if we couldn't scoot them out with a coat hanger.

Also, when your child is playing with this, it is difficult to gain access to the refrigerator since they are sitting in front of it (for a long time!). If you have french doors to your refrigerator, it will not work either but many doors in a home (leading outside) are metal and can act as a refrigerator substitute.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Little Magnetic Marble Run, December 22, 2010

My four-year old daughter wanted for Christmas a big, fancy marble run. Her interest had been sparked by an old Sesame Street short featured in their counting video with a marble run/ball track type-thing that counts 1,2,3 as it goes along, and of course her heart's desire was one identical to that, leaving disappointment something of an inevitability; the Sesame Street one is museum quality.

So mom went on the hunt. Would a marble run really capture her interest for a long period of time? Would it be worth the near-$200 expense to buy a Quadrilla? Would Quercetti be too advanced? We ultimately settled on this one.

For parents it's great because it gives children all the thrill of creating their own marble one, experimenting with techniques to make the marble travel faster or slower, be correctly received and deposited by the bucket or ferris wheel, and so forth - without being the space hog that the bigger sets are, and with a very reasonable price tag. Considering that our fridge is always jam-packed with stuff, it's a refreshing change to see all the junk cleared away and replaced by something fun, making that space something practical and useful.

As for function, it is quite easy for an adult to build a workable marble run, but still quite a challenge for our four year old, and our two year old has far more misses than hits in the building category. It took mom less than five minutes to construct a run using all of the pieces in the Frigits Deluxe set plus the Corner Extensions set. The number of creations that can be built with this set is quite large, and you can discover challenges in trying to build big and force the marbles to make large jumps without derailing, or conversely build a compact run for the little one's sake. My two year old actually seems to like Frigits better than her sister who it was gifted to, but building a structure that she can reach the top of - even when perched on a small chair - is a challenge, though not an unwelcome one.

When you combine the price, the functionality, the compactness, the hands-on learning -- and of course, the fun that spans all ages -- you basically can't go wrong with Frigits. The Deluxe Set has the perfect amount of pieces for a standard fridge (ours is a traditional style fridge, 18 cubic feet, which is a mid-to-small size). The Extension Set, while being an interesting little bonus is not absolutely necessary. The Deluxe Set alone is ideal, and worth every penny. So long as you don't mind rounding up marbles off the kitchen floor (a given drawback), there's really no negatives to this cool little toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frigits Deluxe - A Hit with Kids of All Ages!!!, January 21, 2008

This last-minute Christmas purchase through Amazon turned out to be the biggest hit - with 'kids' of all ages that came to our house on Christmas Day. My 7 year old son told Santa and everyone he wanted this - and at the last minute, I realized that we didn't have it. Thankfully, I was able to place an expedited order through Amazon, and it arrived in time. He was thrilled to find it under the tree, immediately got it out and spent a while constructing a maze on the refrigerator. For the rest of the day, members of our extended family, ranging from 6 to 76 designed and built and tweaked mazes. And they still do - everyone who comes into our house is immediately intrigued by it and stops to play - kids and grown-ups alike.

This is a wonderful toy and there are so many creative ways to position it. My 6 year old son couldn't stop playing with it the minute it was up and after about a half an hour he was trying to create his own designs. The only thing - we've had it two weeks we've got 3 marbles left. Not sure there is a real fix for that, except to put a barrier in front of the bottom of the refrigerator and stove (as they do roll). I would not let that stop you from buying the product. But you might have to buy an extra bag of marbles to got with it.
