Product Description

Add to your caffeine collection The now famous caffeine molecule emblazoned on a swell glass mug is the perfect addition to your caffeine collection. This one's got some somewhat calm earl-grey tea in it cuz that's what I was drinking when I took the picture, but feel free to use it for your daily double cappucino with a shot of skyrocket syrup. 8-ounce glass mug with the caffeine molecule printed in lime green.

WARNING: THE MATERIALS USED AS COLORED DECORATIONS ON THE EXTERIOR OF THIS PRODUCT (CAFFEINE MUG) CONTAIN LEAD AND/OR CADMIUM is on the website & the mug. I love this mug otherwise. It has a quality weight of glass, I just wish they had applied the same quality to the exterior decal on the mug. I use it to hold pens etc...on my desk.

We didn't even have the mug a month before all the paint came off in the dishwasher. I was sad but the mug still works lol.

Pretty much everyone I've asked "what molecule do you think this is?" with mug in hand has said, "THC?". After a bout of Breaking Bad episodes my mom guessed, "Meth?" Geez, cmon people, I'm a caffeine junky and you know it! Oh well, it's still a great mug!

I was so excited to get this mug! I used it once, and it broke the first time I washed it! The mug was poorly made though; it had a huge, vertical break in the glass on one side where the glass had been bent over on itself to form a cylindrical mug. In other words, it's a folded over sheet of glass. You can definitely tell it was lower quality workmanship!

"Coffee - black." - yes, even Captain Janeway would approve of this mug. Well crafted and comfortable handle. I have a friend who thinks coffee is the 5th food group... he enjoyed this birthday present.

This caffeine molecule coffee mug is made out of heavy glass and the size and shape of the handle feels good in my hand. (My hands are small, just so you'll know.) The mug holds 8 oz. of liquid, which admittedly in this day and age of supersizing seems quite small, but I can always fill it again if I want more.

I use the mug for hot beverages, which I often cool down by throwing in a couple of ice cubes. No problem with that so far, and in fact there are vertical lines in the glass which allow for expansion and contraction. It might be a bit of a surprise when you see them, though...it makes the mug look considerably less elegant than you'd think from the picture. I deducted a star for the fact that it just doesn't look as nice as the product shot.

This mug actually comes from the Think Geek website and if you read the product description there, it says the mug is not dishwasher safe. Nevertheless, I have put mine in the dishwasher a couple of times now, although I pulled it out after 15-20 minutes. I'm fine with handwashing it under normal circumstances, though, and have no intention of putting it in the dishwasher often.

The Think Geek website also says 'made in China,' so that makes the colored decorations somewhat suspect. One review here says there may be lead or cadmium in the paint, although I didn't anything like that on the Think Geek website. I have no idea what process was used to apply the decorations but they certainly aren't just decals that will peel off easily, so I feel fairly confident that they'll last for a bit.

The comments about the mug at Think Geek are considerably less positive than the ones here on amazon. I'm not sure what that's about, but I thought I'd mention it because some of the reviews there are quite unfavorable. (I found the mug over there, but then I came over to the amazon.smile website to buy it, so that a portion of my purchase could go to the charity of my choice.)

I love this mug. I just wish that the base was not so thick. I like to leave my mugs on a warmer and I cannot do that with this one.
