I ordered this battery. The title says Thinkpad battery and just below it 'other products by lenovo'. The picture is of an IBM/Lenovo brand battery. I would not have ordered one otherwise. The order was through computer brain (there are several companies who end up selling batteries through this page). Instead of the lenovo brand battery I thought I was getting, I got a generic battery from "Premium Power" that was shoved into a box that didn't even look like it was the original box since the foam is not hte right size and the battery was just shoved in between two pieces of foam with the box bent outward.

In doing further searching, I found that my original battery died because of a flaw and lenovo is doing a "silent" recall of the batteries. Go to this lenovo page: [...]APPLYCOUNTRY to determine if you are eligible for a replacement battery. If the link gets disabled by amazon, the title of the page is ThinkPad battery has low capacity or shows an "Irreparable damage" or "Battery cannot be charged" error message - ThinkPad T60/T61/R60/R61/X60/X61 - a search in google should find it.

I ran the utility, and filled out the form and lenovo is sending me a new battery.

This is a bait and switch Amazon Partner. The add shows a photo or an OEM Lenovo battery and the text indicates that the battery is a Lenovo Battery. BEWARE, these are not OEM Lenovo replacement batteries!!! They are a third party battery with a look alike Lenovo label. The battery does not contain the Lenovo OEM battery ID chip. Once installed the Lenovo Power Manager will identify this battery as "...the battery installed is not a genuine Lenovo battery..." and the dreaded exclamation triangle will appear ever present in the Power Manager status icon field.

AVOID THIS AMAZON PARTNER. This battery is a bait and switch third party product. NOT OEM. Shame on Amazon for continuing to allow this scammer to sell products based on bait and switch tactics and lies.

I ordered this product from Computer Brain because it was advertised as "Thinkpad battery by Lenovo", and the product image shows the IBM logo. When I got it I found that it is in fact a "Thinkpad compatible" battery made by "Premium Products". I have asked the vendor to replace it with an OEM product or give me a refund. I am waiting for a response from them. UPDATE: they agreed to take it back and refund my money. I sent it back 2 days ago, am waiting for the refund.

The photo for this product shows an official IBM/Lenovo battery, but what was shipped was a generic battery that does not show up as genuine. Watch out!

I travel often and i always take my notebook the Lenovo T60 with me
My original 6 cell battery is good but it doesn't stay that long
So i decided to go for the 9 cell i ordered it from ANTOnline and
It came on time this battery can stay for more than 6 hours!
Thats enough and exactly what i want i highly recommend this battery
For ThinkPad users who are on the move and want the ultra Long life battery.

I bought a pair of these batteries for my two sons in college. The standard battery supplied with their computers would hold a charge for about 2 hours. These new batteries will last them for a full 6 hour day on campus! They now have the freedom to fully utilize their laptops - even in areas where no power outlets are available. Well worth the cost for that flexibility.

If you need a battery that can get you through more than one meeting or more than one class, then you need to upgrade to the 9 cell. I purchased a T61p for my college kid and the battery that came with the laptop barely made it through class. I had a lot of anxiety trying to figure out if this battery works in that computer. Long story short - if you're using a T60 series computer - this one works and the college kid is very happy with it.

The delivery was prompt and the item was as promised. It's been about a month since I bought it and till now, I have no complaints. To give an estimate of the battery life, I use Ubuntu on my Thinkpad T60 and if I use the browser with a slightly dimmed display, I get around 3.5 hours of battery life.

However, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that I get a long service from this battery as the original Lenovo battery which came with my laptop just died one fine day even though I did not use it at all (as I use my computer more as a desktop and hence is plugged to the power all the time). Let's hope that the same fate does not lie ahead for this one.

I bought this for my Lenovo T60 after my old battery died. It works great. I get about 4-5 hours per full charge. I would get longer life if I turn down the power setting. When I received this the manufacturing date was only 2 weeks earlier. Great price too.

Buying a genuine Lenovo battery at a great price was a bit more complicated than I thought. Whether to buy a genuine battery or a generic third-party battery at a lower price is completely a personal choice. But, I didn't want to see the ugly message from Lenovo battery manager software reminding me that it is not a genuine battery. In addition, I wanted to avoid even the slightest chance of overheat or some other potential problems that might be caused by generic batteries.

Given my preference, I ordered one from an Amazon third-party seller at almost a half the Amazon list price. However, what arrived is a counterfeit product, which looks exactly like the genuine one. But, Lenovo battery manager did not recognize it as a genuine battery and kept showing the irritating message. After my inspection, I found more evidence that confirms my initial suspicion: e.g. inconsistent product numbers among the label, the barcode, and the battery manager software. Its temperature rose rather quickly. So, I returned the product for refund.

Then, I tried another third-party Amazon seller, Origin Micro, at a great price (cheaper than the current posted price) based on positive reviews. Fortunately, I received a genuine Lenovo replacement battery. My T61p uses more power due to a discrete graphic chip than T61, but the new battery can hold up more than 5 hours with both wireless and bluetooth on. This is more than I expected, and I'm happy with its performance. I didn't give five stars because the battery's full capacity seems to deteriorate rather quickly: the full capacity went down to 99% of its original capacity in two weeks. Well, this is not bad at all because my original 6-cell battery lost 50% of its original capacity in 15 months. I assume Lenovo battery was designed that way and expect to buy another one in a year or so. Overall, this is a reasonably good battery for my hard-working T61P.
