Product Description

The 9oz bottle was designed to be free of toxic chemicals like bisphenol-A, lead, PVC and phthalates. The bottle features an anti-colic soft silicone nipple to ease in the transition from breastfeeding to bottle feeding. The bottle also features a travel cap to reduce chance of spillage.

From the Manufacturer

Thinkbaby products address the growing concern of toxic chemicals leaching from consumer products. All products are free of bisphenol-A (BPA), lead, PVC, phthalates, melamine, nitrosamines, and biologically toxic chemicals. Thinkbaby's 5 ounce bottles come packaged two per pack. The bottles feature our anti-colic nipples, which helps reduce gas and spit up. The anti-colic system is actually built into the nipple for easy cleaning with no little parts to lose or break. The bottles come with Slow Flow Cross Cut nipples designed for newborns to 3 months. If your child is between 3 and 6 months, we recommend our Medium Flow Cross Cut. For ages 6 to 12 months, we recommend our Fast Flow Cross Cut nipples. The advantage to the cross cut design is that is no spill. For strong feeders, we do also offer Single Hole nipples. All Thinkbaby bottles feature our travel cap to reduce chance of spillage during travel. The bottles are made from medical grade plastic called PES and can easily be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher. One of the great cost-saving advantage of the Thinkbaby line is that you can extend the life of the baby bottle by simply purchasing the Conversion kit. The Conversion kit transforms the baby bottle into our award winning Sippy cup. For parents this means, no more throwing away baby bottles after one year and for the environment no excess waste. Most little ones become ready for the transition between 9 and 12 months. Check out our top selling Complete BPA Free Feeding Set. Thinkbaby's products are recommended by Healthy Child Healthy World.

If you didn't tighten them enough, they leaked.

We received feedback from our customers that the flow rates of the bottles was too fast for newborns and that the single hole style of nipple allowed fluid to continuously pour.

With the feedback received, we introduced a new style of nipple called the Cross Cut. The benefits of the cross cut is that it does not let fluid pour out when held upside down. In addition, we slowed the flow rate of the nipples that come with the bottle. We should mention here that both the 5oz and 9oz come outfitted with slow flow cross cut nipples.

As we have slowed down the flow rate significantly, we suggest purchasing the appropriate flow rate for your child. Our recommendations are as follows:
0 to 2 or 3 months - Cross Cut Slow Flow
3 to 6 months - Cross Cut Medium Flow
6 to 1 year - Cross cut Fast Flow

We typically suggest that parents move to our sippy cup around 9 months. The sippy cup also features the cross cut and can be held upside down without liquid pouring out.

Although, we are extremely focused on paying attention to chemical safety, we also didn't set out to create a company that wasn't responsive to it's users.

If you ever have questions, please feel free to email us at info@thinkbabybottles.com.

We have twin daughters and have been using these bottles for about three weeks. After trying to decide between these and the Born Free, which we also purchased two of, we decided to use these the majority of the time.

One of the other reviewers is correct, there is a technique to using these bottles. The milk does come flying out when you turn it upside down and you're better off introducing it to your baby in more of a horizontal fashion until they start sucking. Once their sucking equalizes the pressure inside the bottle, it really does come out in just a drip. On first use when one of my daughters took a pause from sucking, I wondered why milk was not filling up her mouth and dribbling out. When I pulled it out of her mouth I saw just a drip... drip... drip. That said, I wouldn't recommend it for a newborn who is just learning the breathe/suck/swallow pattern. The flow does start off fast at first and it would be difficult for them to keep up long enough to equalize the pressure. But our 3.5 mo. old daughters have had no trouble. The venting system is unique and appears to work. We get one big burp after each feeding and that seems to be enough. And after using Dr. Brown's for so long (with our first daughter and now the twins), it is nice to no longer have a lot of parts to clean and keep track of!

Now for the obligatory list of pros and cons...

Pros:
1. Obviously... BPA free.
2. Unique venting system that works.
3. Contemporary design, comfortable to hold.
4. Not a lot of parts to keep track of.
5. The company is very prompt about returning emails regarding questions and product suggestions. I had an answer to mine within 6 hours and they are very receptive to suggestions.

Cons:
1.

I was in love with these bottles (the look & appearance) after searching for 2 days online for a chemical(etc.) free bottle.
I decided on these. I ordered and they were shipped in a reasonable amount of time. I was so excited about them, they style, the look, the whole thing about NO LEAKS, NO COLLAPSABLE nipple, and the wide neck opening...
So first I cleaned and sterilized a bottle and nipple and notice that the smallest size nipple hole was huge(bigger then the current stage 3 nipple from dr. browns)but none the less I fixed a bottle and right off the bat, they were leaking the cap that comes with these bottles are not what is shown in the picture or on the box. it is a plain cap that does NOT prevent leaking, so I proceeded to fix the bottle and feed my 6 month son . 2 sucks and the nipple collapses!!! so i pulled the bottle out and started again..... over and over and over!!! :( I put the larger size nipple in which was just HUGE compared to what he was using and it was coming out too fast but anytime he would get a few sucks in it was collapsing too! So now I have $100.00 worth of bottles sitting on my counter that leak and my son can not drink out of ! I am so disappointed I emailed the company , got a return phone call, which was nice.
Except he said that my son must be a super strong sucker because he has never had that complaint and that he would send me some new nipples that are Y- cut soon as they are finished making them. They werent quite out yet.
I am going to return these bottles ASAP and hope to get a refund!
I would never recommend or even think of using these bottles again.

I bought these bottles because of their special plastic and anti-colic claims. What a diasapointment. Despite the slow flow nipples the flow is way too fast and my son can't keep up. Just tipping the bottle makes milk comes flowing out the nipple before you can even get it in the baby's mouth. Then, when my son would suck on it, he'd choke after two sucks. We never even made it past this stage after multiple attempts. Also, the cap pictured in the image is not the lid that came with my bottle. There is no yellow portion at the top of the lid to keep the milk from spilling, just a plain bottle cap. Considering the nipple leaking issue, I'd be hardpressed to take these anywhere, even if my kid would drink out of them. It's too bad the bottles are such a pain because the BPA-free, phalate-free etc plastic is ideal, but not very helpful your kid can't drink from them.
